What an incredible experience for our Year 11 student, Billy! 🌟
Billy recently attended the Independent Schools NSW Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Student Leadership Day, representing Arise with enthusiasm and pride.
The day was filled with opportunities to connect with other students, hear from inspiring Indigenous leaders, explore future career pathways, and participate in fun AFL and NRL skills sessions. From learning about university, TAFE and Defence Force opportunities to building leadership skills and confidence, it was a valuable and encouraging experience.
A special highlight of the day was meeting and hearing from acclaimed Indigenous artist Budjerah, who performed songs from his latest album as well as some of his well-known hits. 📸 The photo shows Billy with Budjerah following the event.
To top off an already memorable day, a photo entered into the social media competition earned 3rd place, with Billy taking home a bag of goodies as a prize!
We are so proud of Billy for embracing this opportunity and representing Arise so positively. Experiences like these help students develop confidence, build connections, and explore the many pathways available to them as they look toward the future. ❤️💛🖤
