Congratulations to our U15 Girls Basketball team who are the CSSA State Basketball Champions! At the State Championships our girls went through the pool matches undefeated, growing stronger as the day went on, and winning in both the semi final and grand final. Well done to Stage 3 students who played in the inaugural Junior School Rugby Gala Day hosted at our school. TIGS, Nowra Anglican and Cedars Christian College came and participated in a superb day of Rugby Sevens. Students built new friendships and improved their skills immensely.

Thank you to Mr Peters for coaching the students, most of whom had never played before. Thank you also to our Senior School students Charlie, Aiden, Hugh, JW and Henry who came and officiated. We are incredibly grateful to our maintenance team who maintain our rugby field and set everything up for us to have these wonderful experiences.

Year 9 investigated coastal management as part of a Geography Fieldtrip to Warilla Beach in September. It was a great day investigating coastal processes and management strategies. With the large swell and high winds on the day those forces were certainly in action!

The Senior Project Manager & Civil Engineer at Shellharbour City Council who oversaw the construction of the seawall, gave a presentation to our groups and answered lots of questions about its design, construction and impacts.

Three Shellharbour Anglican College photography students have their work featured in PromenART, a large-scale open-air photography gallery currently installed at The Waterfront, Shell Cove. ​Photographs from landscapes and wildlife to portraits, people and unforgettable encounters are being exhibited for the next six weeks.

Our students' photographs were all taken in the local area, from Port Kembla, to The Farm, to Cascade Falls, capturing different moods and stories from our natural environment. 📷

At our most recent Gold Assembly, we were delighted to present 11 students with their Gold Duke of Ed Awards. 2026 has seen our largest cohort of Gold Duke of Ed participants, and having 11 students completing the Award before finishing school is also a record!

Each student showed dedication and commitment, completing 52 hours of each activity on a weekly basis, including a skill, a service and physical recreation. They’ve completed a four day hiking and canyoning expedition in the Blue Mountains, a five day trip on K’Gari (Fraser Island), Queensland and a five day residential service project.

In congratulating the Gold Award recipients, Mr Cooper said, "Well done. This Award is recognised by employers, universities and many other institutions. It signals that this is a young person who knows how to stick with it, who has pushed themselves beyond their comfort zone, has developed a range of interests and skills, who can work effectively in a team, and knows how to serve others."

We look forward to celebrating the achievements of the rest of the Gold Award cohort who will finalise their Award activities after the HSC.

Congratulations to Elise whose Industrial Technology Major Project has been nominated for possible inclusion in the SHAPE HSC Showcase.

Elise chose to create a kennel for her two kelpies, saying "I wanted to create something that I would enjoy making."

Receiving a nomination for SHAPE, which is a selection of outstanding projects from HSC Design and Technology, Industrial Technology, and Textiles and Design students, is an incredible achievement. Elise's nomination is a testament to her hard work and creativity, and the guidance of her teachers.

TAS Faculty Coordinator, Mr Brown, said that Elise was a pleasure to teach. "She showed great dedication to continual improvement in her skills and quality of production," he said.

The final selection of projects will be on display at the University of Technology in March and April 2027. We wish Elise all the very best.
