It's Book Week! 📓 To kick off a very full week of activities, Years 7 and 8 were fortunate to spend some time hearing from Louie Joyce, an Australian illustrator, award-winning comic creator and storyteller from Wollongong. His illustration work has been exhibited internationally, and he works across publishing, animation, storyboarding and concept development. After an inspiring and creative session, Louie joined interested students at recess for an Illustration Workshop in the Senior School Library.

Adding to the fun, at lunchtime Junior School students participated in the Great big Book Swap in the JS Library, bringing a gold coin and taking home a book to keep.

There was team spirit everywhere last Thursday as Junior School students and staff wore their favourite team colours to school. Well done to the two teams in MAACAS that organised and carried through not one, but two fundraisers, with a gold coin donation raising money for Ronald McDonald House, and a bake sale supporting the Starlight foundation. 🌟Your support will go to assist seriously ill children and their families.

Congratulations to our U15s boys team on being crowned CSSA State Oztag Champions! 👑

2026 was our first time that the College entered the CSSA U15 Oztag Competition in Penrith. Our girls' team played incredibly well, winning their first four games convincingly, but sadly were knocked out by the team that went on to win the competition.

Our boys were able to win their pool and progress to the semi final. At the end of full-time scores were tied 3-3. A drop off occurred and after a close fought battle Cohen was able to score the winning try, earning us a spot in the grand final, which we won 5-2.

Well done boys! We are so proud of both your performance and the way you represented us.

Year 11 Ancient History have recently been investigating the role of museums in preserving and conserving records of the past as well as the debates about custodianship of artefacts. An opportunity to visit the Chau Chak Wing Museum at the University of Sydney showed them how this can be applied in practice.

Students saw replicas of the Acropolis Marbles, a Lego reconstruction of Pompeii and were able to view, handle and analyse artefacts from Rome, Greece, Egypt and the near East.

Being outside the classroom inspires curiosity and creativity and allows students to be collaborative and relational in their learning.

Netball news! 🎉 Our Senior School students played in the NSW Schools Cup Netball Competition in Berkeley - an amazing day of athleticism, sportsmanship and skill. Our Years 9-10 Girls have qualified to the Regional Competition in September.

On Wednesday 60 Junior School students represented the College at the NSW School Cup Netball Gala Day. This was an excellent day to develop our skills and demonstrate excellent sportsmanship. Congratulations to our mixed Year 4 team who went through the day undefeated.

Thank you to our wonderful parents who coached on the day and to our Senior School umpires Ruby, Milli, Chloe, Annabel, Marley and Grace – the day was not possible without your help.

At both competitions, we were so proud of our students and they way they represented our school. This was backed up by comments from staff from other schools on their exceptional sportsmanship.

The recent stunning winter days have been fantastic for fishing. 🐟

Our Year 9 and 10 Marine students have headed down to the Marina regularly to put into practice what they've been learning about Fish Harvesting, investigating the relationship between different fishing methods and the behaviour and physiology of the fish being caught.
