Resilience is something our young people build through the challenges they face.

As parents and carers, we want to know how we can best support our children when things don’t go to plan — through setbacks, change, disappointment and the everyday challenges of growing up.

On Tuesday 25 August, Dr Justin Coulson will join us at Dubbo College for a special Resilience session, sharing practical insights to help parents and carers support their children through life’s challenges.

Recently, 80 Year 6 students from primary schools across Dubbo came together at Dubbo College South Campus for the Aspire Project Day, as part of the application process for the 2027 Aspire Program.

It was a fantastic day filled with engaging activities, new experiences and plenty of opportunities for students to connect, learn and have fun.

It was wonderful to welcome so many enthusiastic Year 6 students to Dubbo College and see them getting involved throughout the day.

On Thursday 20 August, Dubbo College welcomed the Honourable Steve Whan MP, Minister for Skills, TAFE and Tertiary Education.

During his visit, Minister Whan met with Acting Dubbo College Principal Mrs Lucy Burns, Senior Campus Principal Mr Glen Braithwaite, and School Captains Gabby Bromhan and Jayden Murray to discuss the wide range of opportunities available to Dubbo College students.

Discussions highlighted the College’s extensive range of VET courses available to students in Years 11 and 12, the introduction of Stage 5 VET opportunities at South and Delroy campuses in 2027, Big Picture Learning, and the important work of the College Careers Team in supporting students to explore future education, training and employment pathways.

Minister Whan also spoke with three Senior Campus students undertaking School-Based Apprenticeships and Traineeships (SBATs), hearing firsthand about their training experiences and the positive impact these opportunities are having on their future pathways.

During the visit, Minister Whan announced that Dubbo College, alongside Narromine High School, Wellington High School, Trangie Central School and Warren Central School, will benefit from the expansion of the Educational Pathways Program. The program will provide additional support to help schools strengthen student pathways and transitions into further education, training and employment.

Dubbo College looks forward to the opportunities this initiative will provide for our students and to continuing to support them as they plan for their futures.

As part of his upcoming visit to Dubbo College, Dr Justin Coulson will spend time with our Year 9 and 10 students at Delroy and South campuses for sessions focused on Respectful Relationships.

The student sessions form part of Justin’s College-wide visit on Tuesday 25 August, which will also include a special Resilience session for parents and carers at Senior Campus that evening.

We’re excited to provide our students with the opportunity to hear from Justin and take part in these important conversations.

2026 SERISER CUP CHAMPIONS – SOUTH CAMPUS!

Back in Week 3, students from Dubbo College South and Delroy campuses came together for the annual Seriser Cup, with South Campus taking out the 2026 title following one of the closest competitions on record.

With the overall result still undecided heading into the final event, every point counted. After a fantastic day of competition, South Campus secured the Seriser Cup with a final score of 14–10.

Across the day, students represented their campuses in a range of sports, producing some incredibly close contests and displaying plenty of skill, determination and sportsmanship.

// SENIOR CAMPUS

On Friday, our Inclusion students proudly represented Dubbo College Senior Campus at the Ten Pin Bowling competition. 🎳

Our students demonstrated fantastic sportsmanship throughout the day, supporting and encouraging one another while celebrating plenty of great bowls; including some impressive strikes and spares!

While the team didn’t progress to the next round, they have plenty to be proud of. Their teamwork, determination and positive attitude were on display throughout the competition.

The team is already looking ahead to next year and keen to get back to training, sharpen their skills and return even stronger.
