๐ค๐โค๏ธ All In for Reconciliation Week โค๏ธ๐๐ค
As part of Reconciliation Week celebrations, our students took part in a special Aboriginal Cultural Incursion filled with learning, creativity and connection.
Students participated in a range of hands-on cultural experiences, including storytelling, music, dance and art, helping them deepen their understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories and cultures.
A highlight of the day was the creation of our collaborative whole-school artwork. Made from the handprints of students across the school, the artwork beautifully reflects this year's Reconciliation Week theme, "All In". Every handprint represents a student contributing their unique mark, coming together as one community to learn, connect and celebrate the richness of the world's oldest continuing culture.
Thank you to the many families who joined us for the farewell concert and artwork presentation. We are proud to be part of a school community that is committed to building understanding, respect and appreciation for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

What a fantastic day at our Athletics Carnival! ๐โโ๏ธ๐โโ๏ธโ๏ธ
It was wonderful to see all of our students from Kindergarten to Year 6 enthusiastically taking part in the many events and activities throughout the day. The carnival was filled with energy, teamwork, encouragement and plenty of school spirit!
A huge thank you to the Year 9 PDHPE students from Sydney Secondary College Balmain Campus for assisting across the day and supporting our students so positively. We are also very grateful for our partnership with ZING Activ on the day, with the personal trainers from Vision Personal Training also helping to run activities and keep everyone motivated, and for our amazing parent helpers and spectators for their support, encouragement and assistance throughout the carnival.
Events like these are only possible because of our wonderful school community!

We are incredibly proud of the many Drummoyne PS students who took part in the Club Five Dock RSL ANZAC Art Competition this year, creating thoughtful and respectful artworks to honour those who have served our country.
Last Thursday, several of our students attended a special presentation ceremony and morning tea at Club Five Dock RSL to receive certificates and awards recognising their outstanding efforts and achievements. An incredible 12 of the 41 primary school prizes were awarded to Drummoyne PS students!
The event was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate our studentsโ creativity and connection to the wider community. Congratulations to all students who participated. We are very proud of you all.

Making Waves: DPS Students Shine at the SEA KIN Exhibition ๐
Last night was a very special moment for our Drummoyne Public School community, as some of our students took part in the launch of the SEA KIN exhibition at the Australian National Maritime Museum.
SEA KIN is a powerful art-meets-science showcase as part of the Seabirds to Seascapes program โ a four-year initiative focused on protecting and restoring NSWโs marine ecosystems.
Created by artists Jennifer Turpin and Sophie Raymond, the exhibition was developed in collaboration with marine scientists, artists and some of our Stage 3 students. Through workshops and marine science learning, they stepped into the perspectives of harbour life - from seagrass to penguins to ocean currents - and brought these stories to life through striking photographic portraits. Each piece is paired with an imaginative audio story, voiced by the students themselves, sharing their creativity, insight and connection to our local environment (Click the link below to hear their stories).

The exhibition invites us all to rethink what โfamilyโ means - extending it to the marine life we share Sydney Harbour with - and highlights the role we all play in caring for these ecosystems. We are incredibly proud of the role our students have played in such a meaningful and important project.
The exhibition is open to the public until November and is well worth a visit!

๐โโ๏ธ A Huge Week of Sport at Drummoyne PS! โฝ๐
What an incredible week of sport itโs been across our school! From our Cross Country Carnival and Kโ2 Sports Day on Monday, to students preparing for our upcoming Athletics Carnival through our ZING Activ Athletics program, there has been energy, effort and enthusiasm everywhere you look.
We were also delighted to welcome our State Member Stephanie Di Pasqua MP to our school this week to present a Premierโs Sporting Achievement Award to Olivia in Year 5. Olivia recently competed at the NSW PSSA Swimming Championships, where she delivered an outstanding performance, finishing 4th in her classification and achieving a personal best by an incredible margin of nearly seven seconds!
To top it all off, today, some of our Stage 2 and 3 students proudly represented our school at the Inner West Primary Schools Sports Association Gala Day, competing in netball, touch football and soccer against other Inner West schools โ showing fantastic teamwork and sportsmanship across all games ๐
A big thank you to our staff for organising such wonderful opportunities for our students, and to our parents and carers who came along to support. We love seeing our community come together to support and celebrate our students!
Enjoy some highlights from a huge week of sport! ๐ธ๐

Lest We Forget ๐บ๐ฟ
Our student leaders represented our school with pride at the Five Dock RSL Sub-Branch ANZAC Commemoration Service on Sunday, marching from Club Five Dock RSL to Five Dock Park and laying a wreath in honour of those who have served our country.
We are so proud of the respect and maturity they showed throughout the ceremony. ๐บ
A big thank you to our students and families for giving up part of their weekend (and school holidays!) to represent the school and to remember and honour the service and sacrifice of our servicemen and women.

Even though itโs the school holidays, itโs been a very busy two weeks here at Drummoyne PS! ๐ซโจ
Weโve had our demountables removed to make way for our exciting new playground - a big step forward in our plans to transform our outdoor spaces for our students. ๐ง๐
At the same time, painting works have been happening throughout the school, giving our learning spaces a fresh new look. ๐จ
Lots happening behind the scenes - we canโt wait for our students to return and see the changes! ๐
