Well done to all of our students who competed at the Zone Athletics Carnival yesterday! Despite the long and hot day, our students showed great effort, determination and sportsmanship, representing our school so well. We hope everyone enjoyed the day! 🌟

A big thank you to Mrs Smith and Mr Wright for accompanying and supporting our students, and to the parents who came along to cheer them on throughout the day. We really appreciate your support!

That’s a wrap on our Year 3-6 camp! 🏕️

Our students finished their camp adventure with another action-packed day, and we are so proud of how courageous they were! From rock climbing and ziplining to taking on the giant swing, so many students stepped outside their comfort zones, faced their fears and tried something new.

And that’s exactly what camp is all about: giving our students the opportunity to learn new things, challenge themselves and make unforgettable memories along the way. 🙌

We hope our families have enjoyed hearing about all the fun adventures from camp, and we’re sure everyone will have a very good sleep tonight! 😴

A huge thank you to Mrs Johnson, Mrs Nuijten, Miss Preston, Mrs Bonfiglio, Mrs Schell and Mrs Ingram for giving up their own time to supervise our students, join in the fun, and help create such wonderful memories. Thank you also to Wedderburn Campsite for having us, and to Mrs Tyquin for organising everything behind the scenes to make this camp possible for our school.

🏕️ Our campers are almost on their way home! 🚌

We know how much you’ve missed them and can’t wait to have them back! They are expected to return to school after 3pm. Please read the information below regarding their arrival.

Please also note that they will not make the Menangle bus this afternoon, so we kindly ask parents to arrange to pick up their children from school today.

We can’t wait to see all those happy (and probably tired!) faces!💛

Day 2 and the adventures keep coming! 🌿

Our Year 3-6 campers have had another action-packed day, with ziplining, volleyball, bushwalking and plenty of other outdoor activities on the agenda. Even some of our brave teachers joined in on the zipline fun! 😄

The bushwalk also brought a very special surprise: a koala mum and her joey were spotted along the way! 🐨

And to top it all off, the blue skies have continued to shine down on our campers. It’s safe to say everyone is making the most of camp (and even getting some sleep!). 🙌

And they’re off! 🏕️✨

Our Year 3-6 students headed off to camp this morning, and they’ve already jumped straight into the action! 🌞🌿

We’ve received our first photos of students (and staff) enjoying a range of exciting outdoor activities and making the most of the beautiful blue skies. From all reports, everyone is having a fantastic time!

We can’t wait to see what other adventures the next few days bring! 🙌

🔬 National Science Week at DPPS!

Today, our school was taken over by scientists! We launched straw rockets, designed and flew paper helicopters, built bug hotels, made bubbling lava lamps, inflated balloons using vinegar and bicarb, watched our zip-lock bag experiments fizz, foam and pop, and more! 💥

It was a day of BIG questions, wild predictions and plenty of “WOAH!” moments!

A huge thank you to our wonderful teachers for helping bring all of these experiments to life and creating such a fun day of science for our students.

If your child came home today and started raiding the pantry looking for vinegar, bicarb, straws and zip-lock bags… well, now you know why! 😉🧑‍🔬👨‍🔬

🏍️ From Douglas Park Public School to the Superbike Track! 🏁

Following our amazing helicopter flyover last week, we were excited to welcome back another former student today. It was so special to have the big brother of one of our current students, Hayden, return to share his journey. Welcome back, Josh Newman! 👏

Josh shared his incredible journey to becoming a professional superbike racer, giving our students an insight into this exciting and intense sport and how he prepares for each race. The kids loved hearing all about it!

Josh is a wonderful example of how perseverance, hard work and determination can help you achieve your goals. 🌟

A huge thank you to Josh for coming back to share your journey and inspire our students! We wish you the best of luck and know you will continue to achieve amazing things! 🏍️
