We are excited to announce this year’s school production: Backstage Pass!

Specially written for East Doncaster Secondary College, Backstage Pass follows five current superstars as they step into the spotlight at a glamorous red-carpet event. But behind the flashing cameras and cheering fans, we quickly discover that fame is not as effortless or glamorous as it seems.

As their careers soar, each character must navigate the pressures, expectations, and challenges that come with life in the public eye. Through friendship, conflict, and self-discovery, they begin to question what fame really means. Is it everything they dreamed of, or something far more complicated?

Exploring themes of identity, ambition, and the true cost of success in a world that is always watching, Backstage Pass promises to be an entertaining and thought-provoking production.

Our talented cast and crew have been working incredibly hard to bring this exciting show to life, and we cannot wait to share it with our school community.

Our inaugural Japan trip in April 2026 was an unforgettable experience for twenty Year 11 STEM students and three teachers.

They started off in the science central city of Tsukuba, where highlights included KEK, a particle accelerator research laboratory, the Tsukuba botany department with a tour guided by their resident mycologist, and the JAXA Space Research Facility featuring the Japanese space control centre linked directly to the International Space Station.

Students also reflected on history at Hiroshima’s Peace Park and Museum, caught a glimpse of Mount Fuji, travelled on Japan’s famous bullet trains, and experienced Japanese culture and cuisine.
Students gained valuable lessons in global citizenship, independence and cultural appreciation, making the trip a resounding success.

Today, our college will come together to commemorate Anzac Day and honour the courage, sacrifice and service of all those who have served our country.
Through reflection and remembrance, we pay tribute to the Anzac spirit and the legacy it continues to leave for future generations.
We invite our community to join us as we pause to remember those who gave so much for the freedoms we enjoy today.
Lest we forget.

Surrounded by the natural beauty of Anglesea, our Year 7 students had the opportunity to disconnect from technology and connect with the environment. We are extremely proud of the resilience, teamwork, and enthusiasm our students showed throughout the camp, and we look forward to seeing how these experiences shape the rest of their year at EDSC.
