There are three key parts of a summary. The first idea for the summary is found in the initial paragraph. Following that, subsequent paragraphs contain additional essential points of the summary.
☑️ It is important to focus on the beginning, middle, and end of the summary, but do not neglect the other parts.
☑️ Pay attention to the example while reading but don’t include the example in the summary.
☑️ Exercise caution in using commas "," and semicolons ";". If aiming for a score of 79, limit semicolons to one in the summary; for a score of 65, three semicolons are permissible, but commas are generally preferable.
☑️ Use 𝗢𝗡𝗟𝗬 one full stop in the sentence.

𝟏. 𝐋𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐧 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐚𝐮𝐝𝐢𝐨 𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐟𝐮𝐥𝐥𝐲
Before you start your listening test, make sure that you focus your attention on the audio recording. Take your time to listen and grasp the key words being spoken instead of rushing through it.

𝟐. 𝐓𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐧𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐬 𝐰𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐞 𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠:
As you are listening to the audio, try to jot down the important points that you hear. This will help you in better understanding the audio and will also allow you to recall the main points easily.

𝟑. 𝐏𝐮𝐭 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐫𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐞𝐫
Even if you manage to get all the words right, you might lose marks if the correct sequence is not followed in Write from Dictation tasks.

𝟒. 𝐂𝐡𝐞𝐜𝐤 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐦𝐚𝐫, 𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐩𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐬
In the end proofread what you have written and make sure it makes sense. Every sentence in your response to Write from Dictation task should begin with a capital letter, and end with a full stop. No other punctuation marks are required. Don’t introduce articles where it is unnecessary.

Stay clear from mixing singular with plural nouns. Mistaking “tree” as “trees” or “levels” as “level” are all considered as errors. If you cannot remember if it is singular or plural in the audio, use your knowledge of English grammar to help you decide.

𝐃𝐨𝐧𝐭’𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐖𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐃𝐢𝐜𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧
𝟏. 𝐃𝐨𝐧’𝐭 𝐬𝐤𝐢𝐩 𝐚𝐧𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬
It is important that you attempt all the questions in the listening section. Even if you are unsure about an answer, it's better to make an educated guess rather than skipping the question altogether.

𝟐. 𝐃𝐨𝐧’𝐭 𝐟𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐛𝐞𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐚𝐮𝐝𝐢𝐨
Stay synchronized with the audio. If the speaker has moved on to the next word, you should stop typing or writing immediately and go to the next word. If you get stuck on just one word you can completely miss the remaining sentence.

𝟑. 𝐃𝐨𝐧’𝐭 𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐠𝐞𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐜𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐤 𝐧𝐞𝐱𝐭

After completing your response, don't overlook the importance of proofreading. Take a moment to review your writing for grammar, spelling, and punctuation errors. Ensuring the accuracy and clarity of your response can help maximize your score in the Write from Dictation section.

The test evaluates your English language proficiency based on various factors, including vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation, and fluency, rather than accent. As long as your speech is clear, coherent, and understandable, you can perform well on the speaking section of the test regardless of whether you have a native-like accent or not.
