Today, our Denmark Primary School community came together for a fantastic Walkathon for Telethon!

Our Student Councillors chose Telethon as this year’s fundraising focus because of the incredible difference it makes to the lives of sick, vulnerable and disadvantaged children and families across Western Australia.

It was wonderful to see our school filled with colour, energy, smiles and plenty of walking as our students, staff and community got behind such a worthwhile cause.

A huge thank you to our amazing Student Councillors for organising the event and to all our students, families and staff for your enthusiasm, support and fundraising efforts.

We Levelled Up!

What a great way to start the week! Our Pre-Primary to Year 6 students enjoyed an action-packed puppet show incursion with Level Up!

Through gaming, adventure and plenty of fun, students explored friendship, growing up, and the balance between the real and virtual worlds.

Camp Quality Puppet Show!

What a wonderful experience for our Kindy and Pre-Primary students!

Our children enjoyed an engaging puppet show from Camp Quality, exploring important messages about friendship, kindness, empathy and understanding.

What a wonderful Monday at the museum!

Our Pre-Primary students had an amazing time on their museum excursion this week! With 44 excited students, along with our wonderful teachers, EAs and parent helpers, it was a fantastic day of exploring, discovering and learning.

Our first stop was the ‘Insects Everywhere’ session with Rachel, our Activities Coordinator. The students loved naming and classifying insects, using magnifying glasses, completing a scavenger hunt and creating their own insect rubbings.

We then explored the museum in smaller groups, discovering the feature exhibition and sensory room. There was plenty of reading, playing, investigating and learning along the way!

After a busy morning of discovery, everyone was ready for lunch and a quick play before heading back to school.

Year 2 Art Inspired by Mabel Bradley

Our Year 2 artists have been exploring the vibrant, semi-abstract artwork of Tasmanian artist Mabel Bradley. Inspired by her process of starting with abstract shapes and “finding” images within the artwork, our students created their own colourful compositions filled with imaginative characters, landscapes and patterns.

Author Visit to Kick Off Book Week.

What a wonderful way to begin Book Week with a special visit from Australian author Dianne Wolfer.

This morning, Dianne shared how she finds inspiration and ideas for her stories, as well as the fascinating process of publishing books. She also shared some of her many wonderful published books.

A big thank you to Mr Robertson for organising such a fantastic and inspiring visit. We loved hearing from Dianne and celebrating our shared love of books and reading! primary
