I can guarantee that this will be the lowest reaching post of the year because I'm asking for a sale. And that's the nature of the platforms.

But it doesn't make the idea less important.

Someone to sit with you to work out the digital mess you're wrestling with. Ideas. Support. Help with platforms that make no sense. Assistance with the latest AI stuff that's doing your head in.

I spend countless hours learning this stuff so that I can do exactly this - help small business and one-person business owners get stuff done with today's digital tools.

You can directly request to work with me if you're in the NT, QLD or WA.

I built a website last Tuesday for no reason.

No client. No brief. No revenue model. Just a concept that had been scratching at the inside of my skull for three weeks, and I wanted to see if it would work.

It's not just you. Claude's latest model is absolutely rubbish at writing - event in my projects where I've trained it to use my tone and voice.

So switch the model to Opus 4.6 - and notice the difference.

I don't know how long they're keep it going, but until I work out how to get the same level of voice and tone out of Opus 5, I'll be using 4.6.

You want your business or organisation website to impress me. I just want it to work.

I visit maybe a handful of business websites a week. Most of them lose me in seconds. Three things push me away every single time.

First. If I can't figure out what you do within three seconds of landing on your homepage, I'm gone. I will spend five more minutes searching for your competitor before I'll spend thirty seconds decoding your vague aspirational tagline.

Second. No pricing, no deal. I know the game. You've buried it behind a "discovery call" because some business coach told you that converts. I scroll straight to the bottom of the page looking for numbers. If they're not there, I close the tab and find someone who respects my time. And I pay well when I find what I need.

Third. Your logo is everywhere. I can see it. I can read the URL. Stop reminding me who you are and start telling me what you actually do.

Your website exists for the visitor. Build it that way.

End rant.

Most social media advice is written for people who enjoy social media. Post daily. Make Reels. Be everywhere.

If you hate the process, that plan doesn't fail because you lack discipline. It fails because nobody sticks with something they can't stand doing.

This 60-minute workshop builds the other plan: one to three posts a week, no video, AI and Canva doing the heavy lifting, one batching session a month.

You'll learn:

- Why posting more has steeply diminishing returns
- Why no platform has ever published a penalty for going quiet
- Where AI helps, and where it measurably costs you engagement
- The fifteen minutes a week that beats writing another post
- Six popular guru sayings that fall apart under scrutiny

For Australian small business owners doing their own marketing in the gaps. You'll leave with two chosen channels, a realistic cadence, and a monthly session booked in your calendar.

LinkedIn changed its algorithm. Again. Thousands of creators are losing their minds. Again.

My feed is full of people panicking because their impressions dropped. Posts about "the death of organic reach." Threads begging for engagement pod invites. Full meltdowns over a number most of their buyers never cared about.

What actually happened? LinkedIn replaced its old rule-based system with AI that reads your post and decides who specifically should see it. Fewer eyeballs, better targeting. Your post about leadership might get 400 views instead of 4,000. But those 400 people are the ones who actually need what you sell.

A post of mine just last week got 146 impressions and generated an actual paying client. A client enquiry in my inbox at 8.23am. I also had a post hit 13,000 views last week and produced absolutely nothing. Not a single DM. Not one conversation apart from some amusing comments (and I will never complain about that!)

Views are vanity. They always were. The algorithm just stopped pretending otherwise.

Write for the person you want to work with. Be specific about who that person is. Name their problem. Describe their Tuesday morning. Let the AI do the sorting.

The creators panicking right now were building on someone else's platform and mistaking attention for income. Those two things have never been the same. And a platform that finally rewards relevance over volume should be good news for anyone who actually has something worth saying.

Google just dropped a spam update. One part of it matters more than the rest if you run a small business.

Scaled unoriginal content.

That means they're punishing the pumping out of AI-written articles with no real thought behind them. You know, that whole, Copy-paste from what you prompted, bulk publish to your website and hope for rankings approach. A lot of small business owners got sold on this exact strategy over the last two years. I even talked about it (albeit with a warning not to copy and paste what AI pumps out...)

Google is now actively penalising it. As they should.

The fix is simple but slow. Write fewer pieces. Make each one actually useful. Cover your topic properly instead of skimming the surface across fifty thin posts.

Practically, that looks like this...

- Pick one question your customers genuinely ask you. The one they bring up at the counter, or type into your enquiry form at 11pm on a Tuesday.
- Write a thorough answer that includes the specific details only someone in your business would know.
- Include product names, pricing context, which supplier you stopped using and why, what actually happened when a customer tried the cheaper option.

That kind of content is hard to fake. Which is exactly why Google rewards it.

One good article a month beats thirty forgettable ones. And best still? You can use AI to help you put it together - just don't get it to tell the story for you.

Once upon a time, building a website was a matter of knowing how to hand-code HTML. Then we had Content Management Systems, WordPress, Wix and Squarespace. There are countless ways to build a website yourself - but you still need to understand a lot about web hosting and code.

Today's AI tools will build you an attractive, functional website in minutes - but if you need to make it go live, you'll need a few extra bits.

In this 1 hour class, you'll learn:

1. The fundamentals of website building
2. How to work with web hosting
3. How databases work
4. Understanding how to update your website
5. Just how far you can go with building it yourself

This webinar will contain vital cybersecurity information as well as live demonstrations of how to build your website using tools like Google Gemini, ChatGPT and Claude.
