🎭🌊 An Amazing Darwin Festival Experience for Nightcliff Primary School! 🌟

It has been an amazing Darwin Festival experience for our Nightcliff Primary School students! πŸ’™

Students recently enjoyed two fantastic excursions, with the Darwin Festival, experiencing the magic of live performance through ARCO Jnr and Waverider.

🐟 ARCO Jnr
This engaging and interactive performance by Adam Kelly and James Berlyn used storytelling, animation and humour to share Adam's experiences of living with autism. Through the adventures of Adam and his fish friend Finbar, students explored important themes of connection, belonging, understanding and inclusion in a fun and age-appropriate way.

🌊 Waverider
Students also experienced the family-friendly performance Waverider by Legs on the Wall. Combining acrobatics, physical theatre and Australian surf culture, the performance explored marine life, environmental sustainability and the importance of caring for others. Following the show, students had the opportunity to let loose and enjoy the exciting inflatable wave play zone!

🎨 Exploring the Arts and Our Community
These wonderful excursions provided our students with the opportunity to explore the arts, experience live theatre, develop creativity and social skills, and connect with the wider Darwin community. Students were immersed in performances that celebrated the stories, seasons and spirit of the Top End. πŸŒ΄β˜€οΈ

A special thank you to our wonderful teachers and support staff who accompanied and supported our students throughout these excursions. Your care, enthusiasm and commitment helped make these experiences safe, enjoyable and memorable for everyone. πŸ’™πŸ‘

It has been a fantastic opportunity for our students to experience creativity, connection, inclusion and community through the magic of the performing arts.

A huge thank you to the Darwin Festival team, performers and everyone involved in making these memorable experiences possible! 🌟

🏏 A Day to Remember at the Cricket!
What an incredible opportunity for 10 Nightcliff Primary School students who were invited by NT Cricket to attend the International Test Match – Australia πŸ‡¦πŸ‡Ί v Bangladesh πŸ‡§πŸ‡© last Thursday!
The students were selected by Mr Theo, our PE Teacher, to take part in this special experience. They had an awesome day and were thrilled to be invited into the Members Stand to watch the action.
But the highlight of the day was yet to come! The students changed into their Cricket Blast shirts and were invited onto the Test Match pitch to play a quick game of cricket with the NT Cricket staff. 🏏
They were even able to keep their Cricket Blast shirts as a special souvenir of the day!
To top it all off, the students had the exciting opportunity to wave to Nathan Lyon – and he waved back! πŸ‘‹β
A fantastic experience and a wonderful memory for our students. A huge thank you to NT Cricket for inviting our students and providing them with this amazing opportunity! 🏏

🌊 Swimming into Success! πŸŠβ€β™€οΈπŸŠβ€β™‚οΈ

Today marked the final day of our two-week Swim and Survive program for our Year 2 to Year 6 students.

Despite the cool Dry Season mornings, our students showed fantastic determination, enthusiasm and resilience as they took part in this important learning experience.

Swim and Survive is a fun and engaging swimming and water safety program that develops essential skills in swimming, personal survival, basic rescue and lifesaving. The program aims to equip students with the knowledge and confidence they need to stay safe in, on and around the water while encouraging active, healthy lifestyles.

No matter their level of experience, the program is inclusive of all abilities. Students progress through a comprehensive curriculum that builds fundamental swimming and water safety skills before moving on to more advanced techniques, increasing endurance and confidence along the way.

A huge thank you to everyone who made this program possibleβ€”our dedicated instructors, teachers, support staff, volunteers and everyone who helped walk students to and from the pool, supervised sessions, coordinated the program and supported our students throughout the past two weeks.

Your teamwork and commitment have helped make Swim and Survive another valuable, rewarding and enjoyable experience for our students. Well done, everyone! πŸ‘πŸ’™

100 Days Wiser! πŸ‘΅πŸ‘΄πŸ’―

Our Nightcliff Primary Transition students celebrated 100 Days of School today in the most delightful wayβ€”by dressing up as 100-year-olds! 🀩

Grey wigs, pearl necklaces, walking sticks and plenty of smiles filled our classrooms as students embraced this fun milestone. The day was packed with exciting counting activities, creative crafts, and hands-on learning to celebrate 100 days of growing, learning and achieving together.

What a fantastic way to recognise all the learning, friendships and memories made over the first 100 days. Well done to our amazing Transition students, staff and families for making the day so special! ❀️

πŸ“šπŸŒŸ Northern Territory Learning Commission – Mid-Way Pitch πŸŒŸπŸ“š

On Thursday 23 July, a group of our students proudly represented Nightcliff Primary School at the Northern Territory Learning Commission (NTLC) Phase 3 Mid-Way Pitch held at the Darwin International Tennis Centre.

Working alongside students from schools across the Top End, they explored data, solved problems, shared evidence-based ideas and reflected on their learning journey so far. The event provided an opportunity for students to receive feedback, ask questions and strengthen the work they are leading in their schools.

Throughout the year, Ms. Elliott our NPS Teacher Commissioner supports students to analyse whole-school data, identify trends and develop evidence-informed recommendations to improve teaching and learning. Ms Graham, our Principal, works closely with the NTLC and our Teacher Commissioner to guide and support this important work.

We are incredibly proud of our students for their thoughtful contributions, teamwork and leadership. Well done on representing Nightcliff Primary School with confidence and enthusiasm! πŸ‘πŸ’™πŸ’›
