The Australian apostlebird is a medium-sized grey-brown bird native to inland eastern and northern Australia. It gets its name from the tendency to travel in groups of about 12 birds, reminiscent of the twelve apostles.
Apostlebirds are highly social and cooperative. Family groups work together to build large mud nests, incubate eggs, and raise chicks. They are commonly found in open woodlands, forests, and parks, where they forage on the ground for insects, seeds, and other small food items.
Known for their noisy chatter and strong group bonds, apostlebirds are an example of cooperative breeding, where individuals help care for young that are not their own offspring. Their conservation status is currently considered of least concern, although habitat changes can affect local populations.

The Australian King Parrot is a large, colorful parrot native to eastern Australia. It’s especially recognizable because the males and females look quite different.

Scientific name: Alisterus scapularis
Length: About 40–45 cm (16–18 in)
Habitat: Rainforests, wooded areas, mountain forests, and suburban gardens
Range: Eastern Australia, especially Queensland, New South Wales, and Victoria
Appearance
Male: Bright red head and chest with vivid green wings and back
Female: Mostly green with a green head and reddish belly
Both have long tails and strong curved beaks.

Berries
Nuts
Blossoms and insects occasionally
Behavior
Usually seen singly, in pairs, or small family groups
Known for calm, gentle behavior compared with some other parrots
