It is owned and run by the community. As a Community based Preschool we value our collaborative partnerships with our families and th

e broader community. Bundeena Maianbar Preschool caters for children from 2 to 5 years of age. We are open from 8.00am to 3.30pm during normal school terms and offer an extensive school readiness program.

A few weeks ago, the children explored gelli printing using natural treasures collected from our local environment. 🍃🌿
They created colourful, layered prints while following multi-step instructions, experimenting with different colours, textures and patterns. Throughout the experience, the children practiced regulating their emotions, expressed their creativity, and strengthened their focus and problem-solving skills. It was a wonderful opportunity to connect with nature while creating unique works of art inspired by the world around them. 🎨💚

✏️ Exploring Light, Shadows & Creativity! ☀️
The children have been extending their fine motor skills through the creative process of shadow drawing. Using the shadows cast by natural light through our preschool's railings, and windows, they carefully traced the outlines before adding their own unique details and artistic touches.
This engaging experience encouraged children to strengthen pencil control, hand-eye coordination and concentration while exploring the fascinating relationship between light and shadow. As they transformed simple shadow outlines into imaginative creations, they expressed their creativity, developed confidence in their drawing abilities and discovered that nature can inspire endless possibilities for learning.

Check out our STEM Build a Bridge Challenge! 👷‍♀️🌉
Using loose parts and construction materials, the children designed, built, tested and refined their own bridges while exploring early engineering concepts. Along the way, they measured, counted, compared and problem-solved, strengthening their mathematical thinking and teamwork skills.
It was wonderful to see the children think creatively, test their ideas, persevere through challenges and celebrate their successes!

Ninja Warrior!
Our new Ninja Warrior course has been a huge hit, inspired by the children's growing interest in risky play! Together with their educators, the children collaborated to create a risk assessment, helping to identify hazards, establish safe boundaries, and ensure everyone could enjoy the experience safely.
As they climb, swing, balance, and problem-solve, they're developing confidence, resilience, gross motor skills, teamwork and decision making, all through child-led play. We love seeing their ideas come to life in such meaningful ways!

What a beautiful morning for some seascape painting at the beach! 🌊🎨 The children were inspired by the stunning views, exploring colour, texture and creativity as they painted the world around them. We love taking learning beyond the preschool and connecting with our amazing local environment. 💙

🚔 Police Visit!
Recently we welcomed our local police officers to preschool. The children learnt about personal safety, the important role police play in our community, and had the chance to explore the police car and some of the equipment they use.
A big thank you to our wonderful educator, Dani, for organising this valuable experience, and to our local police officers for taking the time to visit us! 💙

🌱 Our Gardens Are Flourishing! 🌼
Our vegetable patch, bush tucker garden, and flower gardens are thriving thanks to the care, curiosity, and dedication of our preschool children, and the wonderful guidance of our educator, Millie. 💚
The children have been busy planting, watering, weeding, and caring for our gardens, learning firsthand about sustainability, where food comes from, and the importance of looking after our environment. It's been so rewarding to watch their confidence and sense of responsibility grow alongside the plants!

Earlier this week our team took a break from the classroom for a valuable Staff Development Day filled with learning, growth and a little creativity!
Our educators refreshed their CPR skills, expanded their knowledge and understanding of autism to better support every child in our care, and finished the day with a wonderful team-building pottery workshop.
A huge thank you to Casey SJ from the Bundeena Art Trail for leading such a fun, creative and meaningful pottery session. It was a fantastic opportunity for our team to connect, unwind and create something special together.
We're proud to invest in our educators' professional learning and wellbeing so we can continue providing the very best care and education for the children and families in our community.
