πŸŽ“ Year 12 Memories! πŸŽ“

Our college has a long tradition of Year 12 senior jumpers and jackets, each one marking the unique era of the graduating cohort. Today, we’re excited to share the image of the first-ever Year 12 top from 1981, the very first graduating class!

Over the years, each Year 12 group has designed their own garment to wear. Nowadays it’s usually a bomber jacket with the class year and name.

We’d love to hear your stories! What did you wear in your final Year 12 year? Share your photos, memories, and any fun stories from that special time.

πŸ₯¨πŸ‡©πŸ‡ͺ What a delicious way to learn a language! Our Year 8 German Language students took their taste buds on a trip to Germany this week, sampling a variety of traditional German foods while practising their German conversation skills! πŸ§€πŸ₯“

From hearty breads to tasty treats, students described what they were eating, shared their reactions, and built their vocabulary in the most flavourful way possible. Who says language learning can't be delicious? πŸ˜„ Auf Wiedersehen, boring lessons! πŸ‘‹

Get on the Bus...

Our history would not be complete without a mention of the many bus rides we have taken to excursions, camps, sporting events, and, of course, the daily journey to and from school.

School Sports Days were always a highlight, with students proudly dressed in their house colours, celebrating and showing their Cranbourne spirit in a way only Cranbourne students could.

Over the years, these bus rides have been filled with excitement, anticipation, laughter, friendships, and memories that have lasted a lifetime.

We are certain there have been some amazing experiences along the way. Can you think of a bus ride that springs to mind? We'd love to hear your stories and memories!

It may have been a cold, rainy winter's day outside, but inside our Visual Arts building, the warmth of vivid colours and quiet, reflective artistry filled the bright atmosphere.

Our Leadership Stars event created by our SRC team provided a wonderful opportunity for student leaders from our local primary schools to come together and explore what it means to be an effective leader.

We were delighted to welcome student leaders from Cranbourne Primary School, Cranbourne West Primary School, Courtenay Gardens Primary School, Clyde Primary School and Coral Park Primary School. Throughout the day, students participated in leadership activities, shared ideas and experiences, and enjoyed lunch together while building new connections.

At Cranbourne Secondary College, we value the strong partnerships we have with our local schools and believe that leadership development is a journey that begins long before students enter secondary school.

We are proud to work alongside our community to support young people as they develop the confidence, skills and aspirations to take on leadership roles and make a positive difference in the lives of others.

Thank you to all the students and staff who contributed to making the day such a success.

Va**ng and ni****ne use are becoming increasingly visible in the lives of young people. Many young people are exposed to it well before adolescence through social media, advertising, gaming culture and peer conversations. What can often begin as curiosity or experimentation may quickly develop into ni****ne dependence due to the highly addictive nature of these products.

Many young people are unaware of the impact ni****ne can have on brain development, emotional regulation, concentration, and overall wellbeing. For families, early and ongoing conversations can play an important role in helping young people build critical thinking skills, resist social pressures and make informed choices.

Follow the link below to access this edition of SchoolTV, which explores ni****ne addiction, the risks associated with va**ng and practical ways to support young people through this growing challenge.
