✨ Foundation B have been exploring poetry! ✨
This term, Foundation B have been learning all about poetry and tongue twisters!
We have been exploring the fun ways poets use alliteration and repetition to make words and sentences sound interesting, rhythmic and memorable.
The students have had lots of fun creating, reading and performing silly sentences and tongue twisters, listening carefully for repeated sounds and words, and experimenting with their own ideas. 🤩

Today, we celebrate the wonderful fathers and special father figures who make a difference in the lives of our children.

Whether you are a dad, stepdad, grandad, uncle, carer, or another special person who provides love, support, encouragement and guidance, we thank you for all that you do.

Your kindness, patience, laughter and love help our children grow, learn and feel valued each and every day.

Wishing all the special father figures in our Kala Primary community a very Happy Father’s Day!

We hope your day is filled with love, laughter and special moments with the people who mean the most to you.

Hi everyone! My name is Philip Winter, and I’m very excited to be joining the Kala Primary School team in 2026.
I have been teaching for 15 years and have worked across Foundation to Year 6, most recently at Banyan Fields Primary School. I have a strong passion for helping students develop confidence, independence and a positive attitude towards learning, and I’m really looking forward to getting to know my new students, their families and the wider Kala community.
Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my family, watching movies and keeping active. I love playing and watching sport, particularly AFL and basketball, and I’m a passionate Collingwood supporter. I also enjoy playing the drums, travelling and exploring new places, with Fiji being one of my favourite holiday destinations. I’m also learning to speak Portuguese!
I’m really looking forward to meeting everyone and becoming part of the Kala Primary School community.
