Loreto College Coorparoo Loreto College Coorparoo is a Catholic Secondary School for girls within the Archdiocese of Brisbane, catering for students in Years 5 to 12.

Loreto Coorparoo is one of a network of more than 150 Mary Ward schools around the world, seven of which are located throughout Australia. We have 800 students from Years 7 to 12. The Mary Ward tradition of excellence in women's education began in 1609 when Mary Ward founded a religious order (the Institute of the Blessed Virgin Mary IBVM) and opened her first school for girls in St Omer. Mary War

d had a compelling vision that women in time to come will do much. She believed passionately in the capacity of women, through education, to make a profound difference for good in the world. Her rich legacy inspires all involved in her schools today to be seekers of truth and doers of justice (Mary Ward). At Loreto our vision is to offer a Catholic education which liberates, empowers and motivates students to use their individual gifts with confidence, creativity and generosity in loving and responsible service.

SUPERGEMS | Recently, our Year 10 students took their learning beyond the classroom as part of the SuperGEMS program, an initiative that promotes connections and opportunities for women in engineering within motorsport.

During a behind-the-scenes visit to team garages, students had the opportunity to speak directly with racing engineers and drivers, gaining valuable insight into how race cars operate and how multiple systems work together. They also explored the factors that contribute to engine reliability under different racing conditions, supporting their current studies and research.

A fascinating experience that brought engineering concepts to life and highlighted the exciting possibilities for future careers in STEM.

VISUAL ART | Year 10 Visual Art students recently enjoyed a hands-on sculpture workshop with award-winning Brisbane artist Leigh Schoenheimer, recipient of the Queen’s Wharf Art Prize. Inspired by the work of Australian sculptor Robert Klippel, students explored the intersection of organic and mechanical forms, transforming cardboard into imaginative three-dimensional sculptures. It was a wonderful opportunity to experiment, problem-solve and bring creative ideas to life.

ART SHOWCASE | On Friday night Mulwith was transformed into a to a celebration of imagination, creativity and growth with our 2026 Art Showcase, Flourish.

Celebrating the works of Art students from Years 5-12 across a variety of mediums the Art Show showcased not only the individual talents and creativity of Loreto students, but the influence of visual arts within education and our community. Our Visual Art students were required to take risks, solve problems, be bold and face challenges from different perspectives to create their finished pieces.

We congratulate all students and staff who made this event possible.

SENIOR SUNSET | Recently, our Year 12 students gathered for the Senior Sunset on Toakley Terrace, an afternoon of reflection, connection and celebration. Sharing afternoon tea, enjoying a movie and spending time together, students took the opportunity to look back on their 13 years of schooling and the memories, friendships and experiences that have shaped their journey. It was a special chance to pause, celebrate how far they have come and enjoy one another’s company as they move towards their final weeks at Loreto. 💙💛
