Whether it's the middle of the night, a holiday, or during severe weather, they answer the call without hesitation. They leave family dinners, miss celebrations, and sacrifice their time because helping others is what they are called to do.

🚨 HEAT ADVISORY & POOR AIR QUALITY ALERT 🚨

The combination of extreme heat and smoke from the Canadian wildfires can be dangerous for everyone, especially young children, older adults, people with heart or lung conditions, and those who work outdoors.

🌡️ Stay Safe: 💧 Drink plenty of water even if you don't feel thirsty. 🏠 Stay in air-conditioned buildings whenever possible. 😎 Avoid strenuous outdoor activities during the hottest part of the day (10 AM–4 PM). 👕 Wear lightweight, light-colored clothing. 🚗 Never leave children or pets in a parked vehicle.
🌫️ Poor Air Quality Tips: • Limit time outdoors if you notice smoky conditions. • Keep windows and doors closed when possible. • If you have asthma or other respiratory conditions, keep your rescue inhaler nearby and follow your healthcare provider's recommendations. • If you must be outside for extended periods, a well-fitting N95 mask can help reduce smoke exposure.

⚠️ Know the signs of heat-related illness: • Heavy sweating or hot, dry skin • Dizziness or fainting • Confusion • Nausea or vomiting • Rapid pulse

If someone shows signs of heat stroke, call 911 immediately and move them to a cooler place while waiting for help.
Please take a few minutes to check on elderly neighbors, family members, and anyone who may not have access to air conditioning.

🚒 Last week, the Coopers Plains Long Acres Volunteer Fire Department responded alongside the Town of Campbell Fire Department to assist with an off-road motor vehicle accident.

We are thankful to report that everyone involved was okay.

Incidents like these serve as an important reminder to operate off-road vehicles safely, wear proper safety equipment, and always let someone know where you'll be riding.

Thank you to all of the first responders who worked together to ensure a safe outcome for everyone involved. 🚑🚒
