Aloha from Senior Kindy at Xplor Early Learning Camira! 🌺

This week our Senior Kindy children travelled to Hawaii without leaving the room! They watched a Hawaiian dance, wore flower leis and explored a new culture through music, movement and play.

Learning about different cultures in early childhood helps children:

🌺 Build curiosity and respect for people and traditions around the world
💃 Develop gross motor skills, rhythm and coordination through dance
🗣️ Grow their vocabulary and language by learning new words and ideas
🧠 Get ready for school with hands-on, play-based learning

Seeing the children wear their leis and watch the dance with such wonder was a highlight of our week. 💛

What culture should we explore next? Tell us in the comments! 👇

Why bringing a comfort toy to childcare helps children settle in 🐰

Starting at an early learning centre, or just getting through a big morning, can feel like a lot for little ones. A favourite toy from home is a familiar comfort that helps with separation anxiety at drop-off, calms big feelings and builds the confidence to explore, play and make friends.

Here's how a comfort toy helps children settling into childcare:

🧸 Eases drop-off nerves
💛 Helps children manage big emotions
🌱 Builds confidence to join in and learn through play

Tip for parents: pop your child's name on their toy so it always finds its way home.

Does your child bring a comfort toy to childcare? Tell us their name in the comments! 👇

Pirate Day 🏴‍☠️⚓️ — but the real treasure was the effort behind it.

Our toddlers went on a treasure hunt, practised their balance walking the plank and got completely immersed in the adventure.

And this one was all thanks to our amazing Toddler Lead Educator, Miss Tarita, who came up with the idea and helped turn it into something the children could genuinely get excited about.

At Xplor Early Learning Coomera, our educators don’t just plan activities — they think about how to make learning fun, meaningful and engaging for the children in their care.

Because when children are interested, they’re ready to explore, participate and learn. 🏴‍☠️💛
