🌿 Positive Behaviour Support

I’m excited to now be offering NDIS Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) in partnership with Ladybug Therapeutic Collective, supporting both children and adults.

https://www.ladybugtherapeuticcollective.com.au

As a qualified Social Worker, I bring ten years’ experience supporting participants across education, justice, psychosocial disability and complex life circumstances. My approach is practical, down-to-earth and person-centred, with a focus on understanding the person behind the behaviour and developing strategies that work in real life.

I’m particularly passionate about supporting people who may have found traditional services difficult to engage with.

🌿 Currently accepting PBS referrals. Servicing metropolitan Adelaide, the Adelaide Hills and Fleurieu Peninsula, with other areas considered by arrangement.

🍁 πŸ‚ What better way to develop empathy and perspective taking than spending time outside with Bikkie the pony? 🍁 πŸ‚

Through low-demand, relationship-based activities, children and young people are encouraged to consider what Bikkie might be thinking or feeling, how our behaviour influences him, and how small changes in our own actions can change his response.

These conversations happen naturally while grooming, leading or simply spending time together, making learning feel engaging rather than forced.

As children become more aware of Bikkie’s perspective, they begin practising skills that are equally important in everyday life, understanding the thoughts and feelings of others, recognising the impact of their own behaviour, and building stronger, more positive connections with peers and the world around them.

What makes Southern Equine Mentoring different? 🐴

Throughout my career as a social worker, I have worked alongside children, young people and adults experiencing a wide range of challenges, including anxiety, trauma, emotional and behavioural difficulties, family breakdown, school disengagement and complex behaviours.

One of the intentional decisions behind Southern Equine Mentoring is that every session is delivered personally by me.

This means participants receive support from the same trusted person each week, allowing genuine relationships to develop over time and ensuring support can be adapted as needs change.

Southern Equine Mentoring provides one-to-one, tailored mentoring and social work-informed support that uses meaningful interactions with horses to build confidence, emotional regulation, resilience, responsibility and personal growth.

For some children, young people and adults, traditional office-based services are not the right fit. Horses provide a unique opportunity to learn, connect and grow in a calm, practical and supportive environment.

Meaningful change happens through connection, consistency and trust.

Sometimes that starts with a quiet moment, learning alongside a horse, and someone who believes in you.

πŸƒ 🐴 Why Mentoring? πŸƒ 🐴

At Southern Equine Mentoring, every session is personally delivered by me. As a qualified Social Worker with more than 10 years’ experience supporting individuals across education, justice, community and mental health settings, I work alongside each participant to build a genuine mentoring relationship and support them towards their individual goals.

The horses provide a unique environment for learning and change, but it is the consistency of a trusted relationship, purposeful support and structured goals that help create meaningful change over time.

Limited sessions currently available Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

Supporting children, young people and adults.

🐎 🍁 What makes Southern Equine Mentoring different? 🍁 🐎

While horses are a valuable part of the experience, Southern Equine Mentoring is grounded in evidence-based social work practice.

As a qualified social worker with over 10 years’ experience supporting children, young people and adults, I draw on evidence-based approaches including strengths-based practice, motivational interviewing, person-centred support and goal-focused mentoring to help participants build confidence, develop skills and work towards meaningful goals.

I personally deliver every session. This allows genuine relationships to develop over time and ensures support remains consistent, individualised and tailored to each person’s goals

Sessions are designed to help participants build confidence, emotional regulation, communication skills, resilience, independence and social connection in a calm and supportive environment.

The horses provide unique opportunities for learning, reflection and growth, but it is the combination of meaningful human connection, evidence-based practice and a supportive rural environment that makes Southern Equine Mentoring effective

🌿 Southern Equine Mentoring 🌿

I’m excited to be opening a limited number of winter mentoring sessions for children and young people in Clarendon.

As a qualified social worker with over 10 years’ experience supporting children, young people and families, I’ve seen the difference that safe, consistent relationships can make. Southern Equine Mentoring combines this experience with the unique opportunity to connect with horses in a calm rural environment.

Sessions are individually tailored and focus on building confidence, resilience, connection and positive engagement.

The focus is on mentoring, connection and personal development, rather than riding instruction.ur a young person who may benefit from one-to-one support, I’d love to hear from you.
