- Implement inclusive teaching strategies and positive behaviour support plans.

- Maintain flexibility to cover additional shifts and team absences when required.

- Requirements & Qualifications:

- Certificate III or Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care.

- Previous experience as an Inclusion Support Educator is highly regarded

- Current Queensland Blue Card

- Current First Aid, and Child Safety training preferred

- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.

🌈 Chickpeas & Pop-Its: Little Fingers at Work! 🌈

Today we set up a fun, hands-on fine motor experience using **coloured chickpeas and Pop-Its**! The children used tweezers to carefully pick up individual chickpeas and place them into the small sections of the Pop-Its.

This simple invitation encouraged the children to slow down, concentrate and use precise hand movements as they worked to grasp, transfer and position each individual chickpea. 🖐️✨

The experience supported **fine motor strength, pincer grasp, hand-eye coordination, concentration and persistence**, while also providing opportunities to practise using tools with control.

The children were fascinated by the colours and enjoyed the challenge of filling the Pop-Its, creating a wonderful combination of sensory exploration and skill development. 💜💛💚

🌉 **Build a Bridge!** 🏗️

This activity invited the children to become engineers and problem-solvers as they explored our **Build a Bridge** provocation!

Inspired by photographs of bridges from around the world, the children were encouraged to look closely at different bridge designs and then use loose parts and natural materials to create their own structures. 🧱🌉

As they experimented with the wooden pieces, craft sticks and other materials, the children explored **balance, stability, shape and construction**, testing ideas and making adjustments when things didn’t quite work.

This experience encouraged children to:
✨ Develop problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
✨ Explore early mathematical concepts such as balance, length, shape and spatial awareness
✨ Develop fine-motor skills and hand-eye coordination
✨ Plan, construct, test and modify their ideas
✨ Work collaboratively and share ideas with others
✨ Build confidence, persistence and a sense of agency as they experimented with their designs

We wonder… **What makes a bridge strong enough to hold something? How could we make our bridge longer? What happens when we change the way we build it?** 🤔

✂️ **Cutting & Creating!** ✂️

Following on from our playdough cutting experience last week, today we extended on the children’s growing interest in using scissors and provided opportunities to further develop their cutting skills.

We set up two inviting trays filled with a variety of materials to explore and cut — feathers, paper, strips of card, corrugated paper, ribbon and other interesting textures. The children were encouraged to choose their own materials, experiment with different ways of cutting and discover how each material responded to their scissors.

This experience supported the children to practise **fine motor strength, hand-eye coordination, bilateral coordination and control**, while also building confidence and independence as they developed their scissor skills. ✂️

We loved seeing the children become so engaged in this open-ended experience, making choices about what they wanted to cut and exploring the different sounds, textures and results along the way.

🍕✨ Pizza Shop – Round Two! ✨🍕

Our pizza shop is back, but this time we’ve taken our imaginative play to the next level! 👩‍🍳👨‍🍳🍕
After enjoying our first pizza shop setup with ready-made pizzas and set toppings, we wanted to extend the children’s play by creating a more open-ended and imaginative experience.
This time, the children have felt pizza bases and a variety of colourful toppings to choose from, allowing them to design and create their own pizzas. 🍅🧀🥬🌈

Through this play, children are developing their agency and decision-making as they make their own choices, while using their imagination and creativity to develop ideas. They are also building language and communication skills as they take on roles, negotiate with one another, talk about their pizzas and engage in meaningful conversations.

The children are strengthening their fine motor skills and coordination as they manipulate and arrange the different toppings, while developing their capacity to work collaboratively, share resources and participate in sustained imaginative play.

Outcome 1 – Identity: Children develop a strong sense of identity as they make choices, express their ideas and confidently take on roles within the pizza shop.

🤖🔧 Rusty Robot – /r/ /r/ /r/ 🔧🤖

Today we brought our letter R learning to life by creating our very own Rusty Robots!
Using scrap metal pieces and magnets, the children experimented with connecting, balancing and arranging the pieces to design their own unique robots. They explored how magnets could be used to join the metal pieces together while using their imagination, creativity and problem-solving skills.

As we created, we practised the sound /r/ /r/ /r/ and connected it with Rusty Robot! 🤖
This hands-on experience supported phonological awareness, fine motor development, creativity, problem-solving and early STEM learning, while also encouraging children to explore how recycled and repurposed materials can be transformed into something new.

Active learning – children investigated materials, tested ideas and explored cause and effect as they experimented with magnets.
Communicating – children developed phonological awareness by listening for and practising the sound /r/ and sharing their ideas about their robots.
