It’s October and your Halloween Gig is coming up!

Chances are that if your band is playing Thriller, it will be the most synth and keyboard intensive song that you’ll play that night.

If you want to play every single part, sound effect, chord progression and melody line, on the Montage series, it’s all here. Even the brass parts!

You probably won’t have to play each and every part… but you can if you wanted to.

“I should make sounds for this!”

I’ll hear a song, start figuring out the parts and even get into the programming before something starts feeling strangely familiar.

I check my own catalog.

Already done. Published and sitting in one of my packs in the website for years.

This has actually happened to me a couple of times now. I’ve programmed sounds for a few hundred songs across all the different packs and platforms, so apparently I can’t remember everything I’ve made anymore.

I suppose that’s one way of knowing the catalog has gotten pretty big!

If you play keys in a cover band, there’s a good chance I’ve already programmed something you’re playing.

“Thank f*ck it’s not a Nord.”

That’s what a drummer said when I turned up to a fill-in gig with my Kronos. His words, not mine.

Apparently, almost every Nord player he’d worked with used piano, electric piano and organ for everything.

“The last guy played Jump with a Rhodes!”

But that’s not the Nord’s fault. There’s a wealth of sonic possibilities in the Nord Stage 4, especially for cover songs.

That’s something I’ve really pushed with my NS4 Cover Sound Packs: song-specific synth sounds, samples, splits, layers, effects, looped phrases and arpeggios, all set up for live playing.

There’s a lot more to a Nord than piano, Rhodes and organ.

And please, don’t play Jump with a Rhodes.

Is it easy to load the Narf Sounds cover sounds into my keyboard or computer?

Yes!

If you can read and understand English, know how to download and unzip files, and know how to copy files to a USB drive, you should have no problem following the included instructions. You don't have to be a techie!

After your purchase, you’ll receive a download link for the ZIP file on the Thank You page and by email. Click the link and download the file to your computer.

Once the download is complete, unzip the file. Inside, you’ll find a folder containing the files for your sound pack, along with an easy-to-follow instructions document that explains the installation process for your keyboard or platform.

For Yamaha Montage M, MODX M, Montage, MODX and MODX+, Korg Kronos and Nautilus, and Roland Fantom, Fantom-0 and Fantom EX, you’ll generally copy the required files or folder to a USB thumb drive. Plug the USB drive into your keyboard and follow the included instructions to load the sounds.

For Nord Stage 3 and Nord Stage 4, you’ll need to have Nord Sound Manager installed on your computer. Your Nord Stage must be connected directly to the computer, and the sounds are transferred using Nord Sound Manager.

For Gig Performer + Arturia V-Collection X/11, you can load the included Gig file directly into Gig Performer. If you prefer to add the sounds to your existing setup, you can load the included Setlist files and bring in the Rackspaces one by one.

Whichever platform you’re using, please read the included instructions document before loading the pack. It will guide you through the specific steps for your keyboard or setup.
