Wow what an amazing week! β¨
Our incredible Star Struck dancers have truly shone bright in this yearβs production of Star Struck: Out of the Ordinary. We are so proud of each and every one of them for their hard work, dedication and enthusiasm. It was an absolutely incredible show! It was wonderful watching all the students come out of their shell and make friends with students from other schools as well.
Here are some behind-the-scenes moments from our Friday matinee and Saturday night performances.
A huge thank you to our families and wider school community for your ongoing support of our students. π«

Our Star Struck dancers are incredibly excited to showcase their performances tomorrow morning and Saturday night!
They have shown outstanding dedication, rehearsing during lunch times at school, almost every day and spending several days in Newcastle practising alongside other schools. Yesterday marked their final dress rehearsal at the Newcastle Entertainment Centre.
A special thank you to our families and school community for your ongoing support! It is truly appreciated.
We wish all of our dancers the very best of luck and canβt wait to hear all about their performances. Enjoy every moment and have the most amazing time! ππ»πΊπ»π

Today the Ellalong PSSA Girls Soccer Knockout team played Round 4 against Cessnock Public School. It was a close game in the first half that could have gone either way, with Ellalong down 4-3 at halftime. The Cessnock girls played a solid second half and came away victorious, but our girls played very well, were good sports and enjoyed their afternoon. Well done!

The girls secured a thrilling 5β4 victory over Cessnock West in their Round 3 match yesterday. It was a true nail-biter, with Poppy B scoring the match-winning goal in the final minute of the game! The win sees the team progress through to Round 4. Well done, girls!
In PSSA Boys Soccer, Elalong had a strong win over Paxton to advance to Round 3. The boys then played a hard-fought match against Cessnock West, going down 7β3. The team should be proud of their effort, determination, and sportsmanship throughout the competition.
Congratulations to all of our players for representing Elalong Public School so well, showing great sportsmanship, teamwork, and enjoyment of the game.
Many thanks to former students and current MVHS students Noah and Lachlan William-Impey for refereeing on the day.
Good luck to our girls as they head into Round 4! ππ

Today, Max, Poppy and Rylee proudly represented our school at the GRIP Leadership Conference held at Newcastle City Hall. Throughout the day, they connected with students from other schools, confidently spoke with new people, and explored ideas about how they can help make our school and wider community a better place for everyone.
We are so proud of the way they represented our school and embraced this exciting leadership opportunity!

Last Thursday, our debating team travelled to Cessnock West PS to debate the topic βAll school tests should be banned.β
Although the team didnβt take the win, they should be incredibly proud of the way they spoke confidently, worked together as a team and presented strong arguments throughout the debate. Well done Poppy, Amelia, Olivia and Rylee! ππ€
