As part of this, we run Newkind Conference to empower more effective actions towards systemic change, and a better world. Newkind explores the root causes of our global problems through a systems thinking lens, bringing to light the intersections and relationships between racial, gender, economic and environmental justice, and the interconnectedness of our planet.

My Safe Circle offers a practical, accessible guide for parents, caregivers, and communities on protecting children from harm, covering early awareness, prevention, and how to build safe environments so children feel able to speak up.

Presented by Dr Heena Sinha Cheung - founder and CEO of My Safe Circle. She is a founder, advocate, and systems thinker working at the intersection of technology, safety, and social change, informed by her own experience as a survivor of childhood sexual abuse. She also co-founded Simple AI, and recently participated in the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women.

May The Devil's Ear Be Deaf is an intimate, immersive live performance from ZÖJ, the acclaimed cross-cultural duo of Gelareh Pour (voice, kamancheh, qeychak) and Brian O'Dwyer (drums, percussion).

Named after a Persian saying used to protect moments of beauty from envy and misfortune, the work explores the fragile space between expression and disappearance.

It unfolds through improvisation, Persian poetry, and a deeply responsive musical dialogue. For anyone seeking something beyond a conventional concert, this is a rare chance to witness music being created in real time, where beauty becomes an act of resistance and shared presence. 🌙

ZÖJ blend Persian musical traditions with contemporary improvisation and experimental art music, and have performed at WOMADelaide, Dark M**o, and Mona Foma. Along the way they've earned the 2024 Art Music Award for Excellence in Experimental Practice. Intimate, adventurous, and profoundly human. ✨

🌍 The planetary crisis is no accident - it's the product of a 500-year system built on the fiction that we are separate from the Earth.

In Delusions of Separability: A People's Framework for Planetary Healing Justice, doctoral researcher Dihan Wijewickrama introduces Critical Embodiment - a decolonial framework weaving embodiment, relationality, and critical consciousness into a pluriversal practice for healing justice and neurodecolonisation. It's an invitation to trace the metacrisis back to its roots, and to discover how collective healing and systemic transformation are not separate projects, but one. 🌱

The reminder at its heart: what we need to regenerate our world is already within us, and within the world itself.

Presented by Dihan Wijewickrama - a doctoral researcher at Deakin University, working at the frontier of Planetary Healing Justice - a field emerging from public health, decoloniality, systems science, and intergenerational trauma. He brings over a decade of clinical experience as a former chiropractor, connecting embodied practice with social justice.

What happens when governance and ethics get dropped into a fictional interdimensional council?

Zoi Jahau (they/them) is a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion consultant with experience across the not-for-profit, disability, mental health, and arts sectors. They are Co-Chair of Women with Disabilities Victoria, and approach DEI not as compliance but as a genuine project of building communities worth belonging to.

At Newkind, Zoi presents All In Favour? Facilitated Tabletop Roleplaying Workshop. Using philosophical inquiry and structured play, participants are dropped into a fictional council where each role carries a different relationship to power, deliberating and voting on a proposal with unequal consequences. No role play or philosophy background required.
