Oceana -🥈2nd 200m & 🥉3rd 100m
Ariana - qualified for the 100m final and finished 5th
Jamaya -🥇 1st 11 Years Discus
Hope -🏅 4th 11 Years Shot Put & 5th Discus
Lakeirra - performed well in both Shot Put and Discus
Leo- performed well in the 100m and Long Jump!

🌟 Celebrating Indigenous Literacy Day at Casino West Public School🌟

Today, our students celebrated Indigenous Literacy Day, inspired by the Indigenous Literacy Foundation and this year’s theme, “Country is our Teacher.”

Throughout the day, students explored Indigenous stories, learned more about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and participated in activities that celebrated the importance of literacy, storytelling and connection to Country.

We are incredibly grateful to Aunty Bronwyn Bancroft for her generous donation of books written and illustrated by a variety of Indigenous authors and illustrators. These beautiful books provide our students with wonderful opportunities to learn through stories, art and culture.

This year’s theme, Country is our Teacher, reminds us to listen to Country, connect with Country and care for Country. Our Bush Tucker Garden is a very special place at Casino West and one of our greatest teachers. Students spend time in the garden observing animal life, caring for plants, listening to one another and learning from the environment around them.

Learning from Country helps our students grow as learners, storytellers and friends, inspiring them to be their very best at school.
