Still sitting pretty at the top of the leaderboard is Winyu! 💛

A fantastic effort from all Winyu students who continue to demonstrate our school values through their participation, positive behaviour, and contributions to school life.

Can the other houses catch them, or will Winyu hold on to the lead? Keep earning those points and watch this space for the next update!

Last week our LHS soccer team took to the field in Round 3 of the Bill Turner Cup and came away with a solid 2-0 victory!

The defence was rock solid, the attack was firing, and the team showed plenty of determination to keep their Bill Turner journey alive. 💪

📢 REMINDER - All ACT public schools are CLOSED this Thursday 11 June 📢

In order to enable industrial action and keep students safe all ACT public schools, including specialist schools and preschools, are CLOSED this Thursday.

The Education Directorate has decided to close schools to students for the day in the interest of student and staff safety.

The Australian Education Union has notified the Education Directorate that its members will take part in protected industrial action on Thursday. We expect a majority of ACT public school staff will participate in the work stoppage, meaning we are unable to confidently plan for safe and appropriate supervision for all students.

Be aware there will be no onsite supervision available for students on Thursday.

If you have any questions or concerns about how this closure impacts your school, please contact your school directly.

We acknowledge that school closures have significant impacts on families and these decisions are not taken lightly. The safety and wellbeing of our students and staff remains our highest priority.

All ACT public schools CLOSED (full day) on Thursday 11 June 2026

In order to enable industrial action and keep students safe, all ACT public schools, including specialist schools and preschools, will be CLOSED on Thursday 11 June 2026 (full day).

There will be no onsite supervision on the day.

The Education Directorate has decided to close schools to students during this time, in the interest of student and staff safety.

The Australian Education Union has notified the Education Directorate that its members will take part in protected industrial action for a full day on that day.

We are again expecting a large proportion of ACT public school staff will participate in the work stoppage, meaning we are unable to confidently plan for safe and appropriate supervision for all students.

If you have any questions or concerns about how this closure will impact your school, please contact your school directly.

We acknowledge that school closures have significant impacts on families and these decisions are not taken lightly. We are letting families know about this change as early as possible to help with forward planning. The safety and wellbeing of our students and staff remains our highest priority.

We have been lucky enough to welcome Canberra Raiders NRLW representatives who will be visiting Lyneham High School across term 2 as part of the Footprints Program, connecting with our First Nations students.

The program is all about building genuine relationships and creating a positive impact beyond the field. Through culture, storytelling, and creativity, students will work alongside the players to design and paint boots to be worn by players.

Each pair of boots will tell a powerful story: where the players have come from, where they are going, and the shared journey being created with our young people.

This is an incredible opportunity for our students to share their culture, voices, and perspectives while building meaningful connections with inspiring role models from the Raiders NRLW team.

We can’t wait to see the finished designs and celebrate the stories behind them! 💚💛
