Today our SLT is stepping out for the Walk for Hope, joined by the very important Monty! ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ’›

Theyโ€™re walking to raise funds and awareness for our SFX House Charities, supporting organisations that make a real difference in our community.

Weโ€™re incredibly proud of our student leaders, staff and Monty for getting behind such a meaningful cause.

R U OK? Day at SFX ๐Ÿ’›

A huge well done to our Year 8 Student Leadership Team, who ran a fantastic R U OK? Day in the Hub today, selling Kit Kats and donuts to raise awareness and get students talking.

Have a break, have a Kit Kat, have a chat. Sometimes the simplest conversation makes the biggest difference. Today is a reminder to check in with the people around you, and to keep asking the question every day of the year.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by, bought a treat and started a conversation.

Temporary car park closure โ€“ Thursday 10 September 2026

St Francis Xavier College advises that the front car park and parent drop-off zone will be closed for the full day on Thursday, 10 September 2026, to allow construction works on the College's new administration block to proceed safely.

Arrangements for the day

No parent drop-off or pick-up will be available within College grounds at any time. Families are asked to arrange for students to walk, ride, use public transport or be dropped off away from the College entrance. Vehicles must not stop or park across the front gate.

The front gates will close at 9.00am. Students should arrive before this time.

Senior students who drive to school may park in the student car park if they arrive before 9.00am. Vehicles cannot be moved, and students cannot leave the College, until 3.30pm. This is for the safety of students and of contractors working on site.

All students will remain on site until 3.30pm. Students will not be permitted to leave during the day unless families have been advised otherwise. Where a medical or other appointment cannot be rescheduled, families should contact the College office in advance so arrangements can be made.

The western bike lockers will be unavailable. Students who ride to school will be directed to alternative storage on arrival.

The staff car park will remain open for staff use only and must not be used for drop-off or pick-up.

College staff will be positioned at the front of the College and across the road from the gate from 7.45am to assist students. Drivers in the area are asked to reduce speed, follow staff directions and exercise additional care.

Transport Canberra and other relevant authorities have been notified.

Further information

Families with questions or who need to discuss specific arrangements for their child can contact the College office on 02 6258 1055 or [email protected]

The College apologises for the inconvenience and thanks families for their patience and cooperation. Full details are available on the College website: bit.ly/SFXCarpark
