Sometimes the most important lesson isn’t found in a classroom.

Today, St Francis Xavier College hit pause on the pressure of senior school and gave Year 11 and 12 students something they rarely get enough of — time to breathe.

From therapy animals and Tai Chi to mindfulness painting, live music and cupcake decorating, our annual Senior Wellbeing Morning was a reminder that wellbeing isn’t an extra. It’s essential.

Because behind every assessment, exam and ATAR goal is a young person who deserves to feel supported, valued and cared for.

Year 9 Sports & Recreation Camp Update

Our Year 9 campers are due to arrive back at the college at 4:30pm today. Please make sure someone is available to collect your child at this time. We can't wait to see you all soon!

🏑 Representing the ACT — We're so proud!

Huge congratulations to Campbell Paterson and Jett Sureda, who have been selected to represent School Sport ACT at the 15 & Under Hockey Championship!
These two talented athletes will be heading to Melbourne from 25–31 July to compete against the best young hockey players from across the country.

This is an incredible achievement — making a state representative team is the result of hard work, dedication, and a love for the game. We couldn't be prouder to call them part of the SFX community.

🏙️ Year 9 Urban Challenge | Sydney

Our Year 9 Sport and Recreation students are currently taking part in the Urban Challenge in Sydney, and they’re representing SFX brilliantly.

Throughout the challenge, students have been working together to navigate the city, solve problems, complete activities and support one another as a team. It has been fantastic to see their teamwork, resilience and positive attitude on display.

A big congratulations to all students involved for the way they have embraced the experience and made the most of every opportunity. We look forward to sharing more highlights from the adventure.

Our Ancient History students stepped back thousands of years last week on an incredible excursion through Sydney's finest museums! 🗺️ From Egyptian mummies to ancient Greek artefacts, it was a day of discovery, curiosity, and bringing the classroom to life.

📍 Chau Chak Wing Museum, University of Sydney — Delving into an extraordinary collection spanning ancient civilisations and cultural heritage.

Moments like these remind us why we study the past — and why it still matters today. 🏛️

⚖️ Our Year 11 and 12 Legal Studies students got up close with the justice system last week, visiting the ACT Law Courts in Canberra!

Exploring how our legal institutions operate in practice, students had an incredible opportunity to bring their classroom learning to life. Seeing the courts in action made concepts like adversarial process, judicial independence, and the rule of law truly come alive.

A huge thank you to our Legal Studies teachers for organising such a meaningful experience. Future lawyers and legal minds in the making! 🎓

📚 From the first graduating class of SFX to an internationally award-winning author.

SFX alumna Jacqueline has built an incredible career in foreign affairs while pursuing her passion for writing, publishing nine children’s books and inspiring young readers across Australia.

Nearly 30 years after starting Year 7 at St Francis Xavier College, her connection to the College remains as strong as ever.
