Celebrating NAIDOC Week πŸ–€πŸ’›β€οΈ

Last Friday, a group of our students joined Year 11 Coordinator Mr Dan Ryall at St Christopher's Cathedral for the annual NAIDOC Week Mass, joining Catholic school communities from across the Archdiocese.

Our students were part of a beautiful celebration of faith, culture and hope β€” beginning with a Welcome to Country and a Smoking Ceremony led by Wiradjuri man Duncan Smith and his family, and celebrated with Archbishop Christopher Prowse alongside representatives from Catholic schools across the Canberra region.

It was a wonderful opportunity for our students to honour the rich histories, cultures and contributions of Australia's First Nations peoples, and to reflect together as a Catholic community.

Thank you to Mr Ryall for accompanying our students to this special occasion. πŸ™

Our Year 12 students have been embracing every moment of their retreat at the beautiful Collaroy Centre in Sydney. From watching the sunrise over the beach and taking time for personal reflection, to tackling rock climbing challenges and strengthening friendships through team-building activities, the experience has been one to remember.

As they come together to celebrate, reflect and look ahead, this retreat provides a special opportunity to formalise 13 years of schooling and acknowledge the incredible journey that has brought them to this point.

Filled with laughter, connection, gratitude and growth, these days away remind us of the importance of community and the lifelong bonds formed throughout their time at St Francis Xavier College.

We wish our Year 12 students every blessing as they continue their final year with confidence, courage and hope for the future.
