Don't you hate it when you go to all the trouble of making a meme to illustrate your point, then you further research your point to strengthen it only to find it kind of destroys your point!

I was sick and tired of people forwarding what bastards us Aussies were when it comes to CO2 emissions due to our per capita output.
My argument was that even though we rank around 12th in the world for CO2 emissions per capita, this was only because of our sparce population spread over a large area. Basically we have to use a thousand litres of diesel just to pick up a dozen cackleberries!

But if you look at our CO2 emissions per square kilometre we rank around 80th on the planet which makes us look a hell of lot better! Either way, we're only responsible for 1.5% of global emissions so even if we went net zero tomorrow it'd have stuff all of an effect on world climate change.

BUT... What I hadn't really looked at was our fossil fuel exports which kinda does have an affect. We rank just behind Russia and the US which obviously means we must be making an impact.

But then again if we stopped exports tomorrow, Russia, the US and Indonesia would simply step in to fill the dark energy void leaving Australia in economic ruin for nothing. It would result in massive job and tax losses leading to the slashing of services like health and education in hand with a plummeting dollar. All for what? To cause a sharp spike in fossil fuel prices for a few weeks.

Australia would have fallen on their sword to make no difference to anything but our own standard of living, while painting a bit of a target on our backs at the same time.

There's a bit of click-bait doing the rounds at the moment about 40 IDF soldiers coming to Australia to compete in some marathon. The implication is that they're genocidal war criminals and shouldn't be allowed in, but besides being in the IDF, there appears to be absolute zilch to back this up.

Now in the spirit of, "not all Muslims are terrorists", I'm kind of wondering why this doesn't apply to all religions?

And now, while writing this, I'm also wondering if this is AI as they're kind of fanning out in all directions and don't really have a marathon runner's vibe about them and why would they arrive in uniform and casual uniform at that?

Well this is a tad scary!
Let's skip the potential accusations of misogyny and forget the male female bit of this graph as the more alarming part is when you add them together and subtract the rest, around 50/50 of Psychology Professors in the US believe truth should come a distant second to... Actually it doesn't matter to what, as truth should never be the silver medallist!

The study also reveals that these educators will often self censor personal beliefs out of fear of retribution which could have something to do with the graphed results posted below.

It's an interesting but hard to read study which should make us all feel a bit uneasy as it does have a bit of a 'living in a regime' feel about it.

While I typically don't have j**z shooting from my wrists, I do get a case of the shivers whenever people start throwing around the word "evil" as the be all and end all in disabling debate. There's sort of no coming back from it as everyone knows what evil is, while at the same time, it's almost impossible to define.

While it can be a very effective, even powerful word, it's also 100% subjective which in reality means it means stuff all! That's why I'm 100% suss' when anyone reaches for it.

One of the things that truly irks me is this sort of self-righteous bu****it you now see on social media. Well if you're so f**ken educated and empathetic then you'd understand why people are jacking up and protest voting radical knobheads into power. You'd understand the motivations behind their views instead of pointing down and mocking from your pedestal. And, most empathetic and intelligent of all, you then may arrive at a consensus on how to work together in resolving whatever the perceived problem is at the time instead of widening the political and social divides.

Up until a few years ago I'd never heard of the word but now it's appeared to have taken root in social media political interactions. While the word is legitimate enough, in my experience the tossers who use it generally aren't. It's kind of the Internet's version of wearing glasses trying to look intelligent.

The word "Strawman", (as in "strawman argument"), is another red flag that you may be debating a dropkick as again I've rarely come away impressed by the argument of someone throwing it around. They're usually just quoting Dawkins and haven't the ability to stray outside of these parameters.
