What a wonderful day celebrating the launch of the Catholic Education- Archdiocese of Canberra and Goulburn Apostolic Action Plan, Grounded in Faith, Growing in Service.

We extend our sincere thanks to the School Community Council Chairs who attended, representing the voices of parents and families from their school communities. Your presence and commitment to partnership are deeply valued.

A special thank you to Katie, SCC Chair at St Thomas Aquinas Primary School, West Belconnen, for sharing the parent perspective as a panel member. Your insights highlighted the vital role families play in the life and mission of our Catholic schools, and the faith we place in our schools to help us educate our children.

Together, we continue to strengthen the partnership between families, schools, and parish communities as we bring this vision to life. 💙🙏

Great to see this continued collaboration.
It highlights the value we place on working in partnership with principals and school staff.

Whilst in Darwin, we had the opportunity to meet with Gez Mulvahil, Executive Officer of the Australian Catholic Primary Principals Association (ACCPA). ACPPA provides advocacy and leadership for Catholic primary school principals across Australia and plays an important role in supporting strong Catholic school communities.

Our conversation confirmed the significance of CSPA and ACPPA's continued and growing collaboration. We share a commitment to ensuring that every child can flourish through high-quality Catholic education and strong school-family partnerships. 🪴

The Australian Government has launched a new $10 million national anti-bullying campaign, Let's Stop Bullying, to help school communities recognise, respond to and prevent bullying.

The campaign includes a $5 million nationwide advertising initiative and a new website with free resources for students, parents, carers and schools.

The campaign also supports the implementation of new national expectations, including updated anti-bullying policies and timely responses to incidents, which all Australian schools will adopt by the start of Term 1, 2027.

Announced by Federal Education Minister Jason Clare he said we know if we’re going to properly tackle bullying, we need to act early.

“The awareness campaign will help us do this. So will the new requirement that schools have to act within two days if bullying occurs," he said. “And we need to make sure parents, teachers and young people have the right tools and resources so they know how to act and what to do.
