[DELEGATION REPORT]

Hi everyone🐨🌳

Last month, one of our members got the chance to attend the World Food Forum 2023 Flagship Event in Rome, Italy, supported by the Fenner School of Environment and Society and the Student Extracurricular Enrichment Fund (SEEF) grant. The event, with the theme "Agrifood systems transformation accelerates climate action”, occurred from October 16 to 20 at the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) headquarters. It comprised three forums: the Global Youth Forum for Food and Agriculture, the Science and Innovation Forum, and the Hand-in-Hand Investment Forum.
Along with nine other delegates from various local committees, IFSA organised two side events focusing on youth-led agroforestry and action for resilient foodscapes. Slide the pictures above to see more about how IFSA actively engages throughout the five-day discussions and networking event!

[IFSA DELEGATION OPPORTUNITY - 30th Asia Pacific Forestry Commission]

Hi IFSA ANU fam!🙂

The upcoming 30th Asia Pacific Forestry Commission Meeting will take place at Hyatt Regency Hotel, Sydney from the 2nd to the 6th of October 2023. For more information about the event, you can visit this link: https://www.fao.org/events/detail/APFC-30/en

We can nominate 3 IFSA members to attend this event, however, there is currently no funding support, so the delegates should fund themselves. IFSA delegates can only attend on the 2nd of October during the informal sessions and the Marketplace session in the evening where we could set up a booth and present about our association. However, given that we are one of the observer organizations, we are not able to join the formal sessions.

What a night!🥳🌿

We managed to have more than 50 participants joining our discussion with our amazing speakers from eight organisations & companies during the Careers Night on Aug 21.

Students and graduates were taking most of the World Cafe session to expand their professional networks and have direct conversations with industry representatives. Hope to host a similar event again in the future (promise you'll have more time for the discussion session😉😆)

Hopefully, more and more people are interested to enter the forestry and environmental sciences industry in the future!🌳🐨
