Today, we had a very special visitor at our Fraser in Focus assembly who helped Ms K present our merit awards to some very deserving students!

Our award recipients have consistently demonstrated our school values of being Safe, Respectful and Engaged, and it was wonderful to celebrate their achievements with a surprise guest.

What a fantastic treat for everyone involved! Congratulations to all of our merit award winners—we are so proud of you!

Year 5 students have been exploring stories in creative and thoughtful ways during their reading lessons. Rather than drawing literal scenes from the text, they have been creating artworks that represent deeper aspects of the stories they are reading.

Their artworks reflect themes, character emotions, relationships, challenges and important ideas that may not be directly visible on the page. This process encourages students to think beyond the events of the story and consider why they are happening and how the characters are feeling.

It has been wonderful to see the students express their understanding through symbolism, colour and creative design. The thought, creativity and effort they have put into making their thinking visible has been something to celebrate.

What song would you choose for your favourite book?

As part of Book Week celebrations with Mrs Warren, our year 6 students have been creating their very own book soundtracks! They selected a favourite book and paired it with a song that matches the story's adventure, emotions or characters.

Yesterday our Kindergarten students enjoyed a visit to the library with Mrs Warren.

They listened to some fun book talks before borrowing a book of their own to take home. Afterwards, everyone enjoyed the story The Cool Bean. They finished the session by colouring in their own bookmarks - perfect for marking their next great read!

Year 4 students have been working hard to deepen their understanding of the water cycle through both Inquiry and Writing. They have been practising identifying, recalling and illustrating the four key stages of the water cycle—evaporation, condensation, precipitation and collection. It has been wonderful to see students confidently explain how water continuously moves through our environment while developing their scientific vocabulary and writing skills.

Today, Mr Brown’s mum and grandparents came to visit our year 1 classroom to share their Boxes of Memories.

They brought along special keepsakes, photographs and treasured items from their lives, sharing the stories behind each object and helping our learners discover how memories can teach us about the past.

This special visit launched their new History inquiry, A Moment in Time, inspiring students to ask thoughtful questions and begin exploring how people’s lives, families and experiences change over time.
