Our Kindy artists created some amazing monsters today! Through this fun and creative project, they explored line work, repeating colour patterns, and the use of contrasting and complementary colours. They had a wonderful time bringing their ideas to life and were incredibly proud of their colourful masterpieces. Their creativity and enthusiasm shone through in every piece!

Year 3 students have been busy learning about the structure and features of persuasive writing, including how to clearly state an opinion, support it with strong reasons and evidence, and convince their audience.

To practise their new skills, students wrote persuasive texts arguing whether Fraser Primary School should or should not have its own swimming pool. They impressed us with their creative ideas, convincing arguments and thoughtful reasoning!

Their persuasive writing skills were put to the ultimate test, when our classroom chairs and stationery decided to go on strike! After feeling upset about the way they had been treated, they refused to work with us any longer. Students were challenged to write powerful persuasive letters to convince the chairs and stationery to return.

The results were fantastic! Students carefully crafted arguments, made promises about how they would improve their behaviour, and used persuasive language to convince their audience. We were so impressed with the effort, creativity and growing writing skills on display.

Thankfully, with the help of some strong persuasive arguments, the chairs and stationary eventually decided to return to work!

Year 6 students have been exploring the importance of empathy, inclusion and respect. As part of these discussions, they have been learning how small acts of kindness and taking the time to check in with others can make a big difference. Today, they enjoyed spending time with their Kindergarten buddies, offering support, showing kindness and making sure they asked, “R U Okay?”. It was wonderful to see our older students demonstrating care and compassion while building positive connections with their younger peers.

Kindergarten have had a fantastic time exploring measurement using foot cut outs! 👣

Students worked together to measure how tall they were, comparing lengths and counting how many ‘feet’ tall each person was.

Year 2 have been exploring patterns and developing their understanding of both repeating and growing patterns. Through hands-on learning experiences, students investigated how patterns are created, identified pattern rules and practised extending and creating their own patterns. To showcase their learning, students designed and created colourful bracelets using repeating patterns, demonstrating both their creativity and mathematical thinking!

📢 REMINDER - All ACT public schools are CLOSED this Thursday 11 June 📢

In order to enable industrial action and keep students safe all ACT public schools, including specialist schools and preschools, are CLOSED this Thursday.

The Education Directorate has decided to close schools to students for the day in the interest of student and staff safety.

The Australian Education Union has notified the Education Directorate that its members will take part in protected industrial action on Thursday. We expect a majority of ACT public school staff will participate in the work stoppage, meaning we are unable to confidently plan for safe and appropriate supervision for all students.

Be aware there will be no onsite supervision available for students on Thursday.

If you have any questions or concerns about how this closure impacts your school, please contact your school directly.

We acknowledge that school closures have significant impacts on families and these decisions are not taken lightly. The safety and wellbeing of our students and staff remains our highest priority.

Our year 6 cohort have recently expanded their collection of games, with a range of card games, board games and cooperative activities now available for students to enjoy.

These games provide much more than just fun. They offer valuable opportunities for students to strengthen friendships, develop teamwork and cooperation skills, practise communication, and build positive relationships with their peers. Through shared experiences, students learn the importance of fair play, problem solving and supporting one another.

It’s been wonderful to see students connecting, collaborating and creating lasting memories together. Sometimes the greatest learning happens around the game table!
