AGAPE ARTS vocal ensemble, Amazing Grace Singers, had a wonderful afternoon last Sunday, visiting aged care residents in Werombi House at Carrington. We shared a program of music from the 1960’s. Songs such as “I’d like to teach the world to sing” by the Seekers, “Yellow Submarine” and “Here Comes the Sun” by the Beatles were in the first half of the program. The second half included songs from two 1960’s movies - “Mary Poppins” and the “Sound of Music”. What a joy is was to see the 40 residents smiling, sometimes singing along and clapping to the music. Thank you to Carrington staff who welcomed us and were so supportive.

Our Good Old Gospel - favourite Easter hymns event, is looking better and better!!! We will have three amazing guest musicians. Here’s some information about one of them. Dickson Chan is a pipe organist who belongs to a group called Sydney Organs and is often found with John Hanna playing and recording many organs in churches all over Sydney. He was with John when they came to Camden Uniting to record our organ. Dickson loves playing hymns! Thankyou Dickson for agreeing to play the Harrison & Harrison pipe organist for the hymn singing on Saturday April 12th.

Cultural Fusion events are being held monthly at Camden Civic Centre from September through to February. In October we took 8 AGAPE piano students to perform while people moved around looking at all the exhibits and stalls. Here is one of AGAPE’s talented young pianists playing Bohemian Rhapsody.
