After the Greenhoods … tiny fairy lanterns (Corybas barbarae), witches brews (aka ink making with Joolie) doodles & markmaking… & of course fab food & company🙏🏽💚

First time spotting Greenhood orchids in Qld, and all based on investigating intel from over 60 years ago. There was a mention in the writings of Kathleen McArthur & then Joolie knew someone who knew something & eventually we had a location! Could have been a wild goose chase but luckily ended up a green hood find! Grateful to share it with WIldflowering colleagues prepared to take the risk. (Sorry in advance, I won’t be sharing location publicly) enjoy their elegance & fragile beauty 🙏🏽💚

EOI’s are now for Sunshine Coast Wildflowering Design Lab 2026!

Following on from the hugely successful ‘Wildflowering Design Lab’ held in the lead up to the 2025 ‘Wildflowering by Design’ exhibition, artists and designers are invited to participate in the Sunshine Coast Wildflowering Design Lab scheduled for the Thurs 2 – Sat 4 July 2026. This is a unique creative opportunity for local artists/designers who are inspired by our natural heritage and want to explore the spectrum of practice across art and design, in particular through surface pattern design. Across a three day ‘lab’ program, participants will use the facilities of the UniSC maker space, engage in a series of immersive wildflower walks, learn from industry professionals, with time to experiment and collaborate.

In the months after the Design Lab, participants will have time to create work that may be showcased in ‘Design Wilds’ exhibitions planned for the second half of the year.

A number of places will be reserved for First Nations artists/designers.

The program will be led by experienced surface pattern designer with wildflower walks by Dr Sue Davis and support by other members of The Wildflowering Collective Inc.

See The Wildflowering Collective Inc website for details:

Two big days exploring Projection Art & so happy to have finally learnt about masking in After Effects! Thank you to for organising this with artist - so many great examples shared & advice given as we muddled our way through. A few of us worked on existing art works, enlivening them with light & movement. My set of Cotton tree blooms also worked on my Cotton Tree top (Magpie Joose with design) & then I just had to play with the little ducks (Flying Duck Orchids) overlaid on a paper lantern installation! Great group of artists to share it with as well. Look forward to seeing what everyone ends up creating 🙏🏽💗

Just a few flower & fauna highlights from our South West Qld pilgrimage - special time for my partner Ray & I. Mostly been posting to my personal FB as there’s been a lot of non Wildflowering content - but of course there have been some flowers! Loving our time at and meeting up with Rose of for our Carnarvon adventure today 🙏🏽💗🌼

Beautiful reds of Alyxia & Bloodwoods (you can see why they are thus named) - some moments from a late afternoon walk with the Wallum Study Group ❤️ I needed that 😍
