๐ฟ Day One at Emu Gully! ๐ฟ
What an incredible first day our students have had at Emu Gully Adventure Camp! ๐ช
The day was all about teamwork, perseverance and sacrifice, with students taking on challenging activities including Temeltons Crossing and Bringing Up the Guns. There was plenty of mud, plenty of teamwork and definitely plenty of laughs! They embraced getting muddy and pushed themselves well outside their comfort zones.
Students also had the opportunity to learn how to drive the buggies, putting their new skills to the test. ๐๏ธ
After dinner, it was time to slow things down with a singalong around the campfire ๐ฅ before taking on The Battle of the Nek, an activity that recreates the conditions and challenges faced during the Gallipoli Campaign.
A huge first day filled with challenges, courage, teamwork and plenty of muddy memories! ๐
We canโt wait to see what Day Two brings! ๐

Turning the tables! ๐ช
Our Certificate III in Fitness students have been putting their knowledge and skills into action by training some of our very own staff!
The students love the chance to switch places with their teachers and take the lead, planning and delivering fitness sessions while sharing what they have learned throughout the course.
A huge thank you to our wonderful staff volunteers who were brave enough to step up, get involved and let the students put their coaching skills to the test! ๐

50 Years of Deadly- Our NAIDOC Week Artwork
To recognise NAIDOC week this year, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students, non-Indigenous students, staff, families and community members were invited to add their handprint to our 50 Years of Deadly artwork. Watching it grow across the day was a wonderful experience. What began as a beautifully painted base, created by Year 11 Art students Delaney P and Amelie N, became something that now belongs to all of us. Every handprint is different, but together they have created a reminder of what can happen when our school community comes together.
This yearโs NAIDOC theme, 50 Years of Deadly, marks five decades of NAIDOC Week celebrating and recognising Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander history, culture, voices and achievements. It honours those who have come before, while recognising the strength of culture and community continuing into the future. The word โdeadlyโ means something excellent, awesome or something to be proud of. It can also speak to strength, courage, identity and pride in who you are, your mob and where you come from.
Our community BBQ gave us another opportunity to bring people together. Community members were invited to add their own handprints, ensuring that this artwork represents not just our students, but the people, parents/guardians and community members who support our school.
For us, this artwork is more than a celebration of 50 Years of Deadly. It captures a moment when our whole school community came together to recognise the strength of our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students and community. Each handprint represents a person leaving their mark and contributing to something created together.
