This weeks student work...
Learn at your pace, have fun & learn stress free. All materials are included including your finished artworks, which will be ready to hang in your home.
Bring a friend, support worker or relative. Art is living, therapy, enjoying and telling your story. You will be learning in a working art studio, not a classroom. You might want to learn how to repurpose old paintings. Or find out where to buy a range of materials to use in your artworks (although all materials are included in the class fee). Learning on the go, you will learn a range of new skil

Today's class created this wonderful representation of Australia. Free style rough in Is encouraged and this is the result. I'm so proud to have students with a different perspective. Some say disability, i say perspective. There is no right or wrong, just personal narrative and expression.

Some student works in progress....
The sketch was a class i did that drew on my time in the bush, hiking and camping, to teach the first survival requirment, shelters, the other two being food and water, the class involved different aspects of fire, safety, scouting, preparation for rescue, survival. cooking and learning knots, eg reef knot and bowline. Assisted with sketching and practical skills learning.
I've been fortunate through learning these skills to be able apply them in art and storytelling. My classes are oriented around what the student wants to learn, not what an art teacher wants to teach. The three artworks are progressing nicely and are painted by students with various disabilities.

Doodling explained...
Doodle art, a form of expression that is both simple and profound, holds a special place in the realm of artistic creativity. At its core, it consists of spontaneous, often unstructured drawings that can range from abstract patterns to recognizable figures and shapes.
A doodle doesn't always evolve but often does. It can turn into a more interesting study of a form, a thought, an expression and end up a significant work of art.
At Caloundra Art Classes, we explore how a pencil of different shade or width can evolve with light and dark, curve to angle and abstract to realism. Add a wash, erase some pencil or smudge the doodle and see it transform ( or not). I'll add some comments below to identify origins of work and some background to the inspiration.

I'm pleased to photograph just now, the 5 kangaroos, after a month or two, they're opposite happy Valley. They're just coming out of the coastal forest to grab a chew on the dune grasses ( they love the yellow flowers). The 5th roo is at the centre back in the photo. Soooo happy to see the 5 are still here. One appears to be a juvenile male so they may actually survive longer term. Still here at 5.35pm , tues 15th Oct 2024.
A couple walked up to them too close so they retreated a bit. They'll venture further out after dark.
I'll post the video on my art class fb page.
