The CVSS Easter Bonnet Parade is a much-loved school tradition, and as always we’re encouraging everyone to help make it a little kinder to the planet.
Rather than buying new plastic decorations, we invite families to get creative using items you already have at home.
Try using things like:
- Recycled cardboard or paper
- Old magazines or newspapers
- Fabric scraps or ribbons
- Leaves, flowers, and natural materials
- Egg cartons or packaging
- Reused craft supplies from home
The challenge:
Create a fun and festive Easter bonnet without buying new single-use plastic items!
This is a great opportunity for children to:
- Be creative
- Think sustainably
- Work together with their families
There are no rules – just imagination!
We can’t wait to see all the creative, recycled and nature-inspired bonnets on parade on Thursday 2nd April at 9am!

Good luck to all our students competing in today’s Cross Country!
With war cries echoing around the school all week, the rivalry between Cougals and Talganda is set to be next level!
For any little ones feeling a little nervous about competing today, remember — just giving it a go is something to be really proud of. Do your best, have fun, and cheer each other on. Look for your teammates and HAVE FUN!
A huge thank you to the incredible team who made today possible — Mr Williams, Mr Damo, Miss Lizzie, and all our dedicated teachers who have supported and encouraged our students through early morning training runs and practice sessions.
And a very special thank you to the amazing parents who came together to prepare the back paddock, giving our kids the chance to experience a true cross country course.
Your support helps keep the Valley spirit alive and thriving at CVSS.
Year 6 have Face paint, hair sprace, sequins and ribbons available to purchase or $1 before school.
The Uniform Shop will be open for any last minute purchases of house shirts.
And last but not least, our Tuckshop is bursting at the edges with healthy snacks and treats to fuel our little runners!
