The Chicken Palace is taking shape! 🔨

A huge thank you to our kindy super dads and their little apprentices, with plenty of support from our amazing super mums, for making such great progress on our chicken coop! 💪💚

It’s wonderful to see our community coming together, with big and little helpers all getting involved and bringing our chicken palace to life.

We can’t wait to see the project progress and, of course, we’re getting very excited about meeting our future feathered residents! 🐔

Watch this space.

WE’RE EXPECTING...

CHICKENS! 🥚🐔

After lots of hard work fundraising, some generous donations and being lucky enough to receive a grant, we’re finally ready to make our chicken dreams a reality! 🎉

We’re getting ready to build our very own chicken coop at kindy.

WORKING BEE THIS WEEKEND 🔨

Time to roll up those sleeves, get stuck in and start building!

A very special thank you to Ericka and the wonderful team at the Men’s Shed for helping make this project happen. We are so grateful for the support and generosity of our community. 💚

Flowers are blooming, gardens are growing, and our kindy outdoor spaces are a wonderful place for little explorers to discover. 🌱🐝☀️

At Yorkeys Kindy, children have plenty of opportunities to dig, plant, water, observe and wonder.

A tiny seed can become a lesson in patience.
A visiting butterfly can spark curiosity.
A handful of soil can inspire hours of imaginative play.

These simple, everyday experiences help children develop a connection with nature while building confidence, curiosity and a love of learning.

We have also been learning about sustainability, recycling and composting! ♻️🌱

Our children take turns adding food scraps to the compost tumbler and then rolling it around to help mix everything together. Over time, the scraps break down and create rich compost that we can use to help our garden grow.

It’s a wonderful way for children to see how the things we might normally throw away can become something valuable for our garden.

Here’s to a beautiful term filled with sunshine, exploration and lots of little discoveries!

💙 Happy Father’s Day! 💙

We hope all the dads, grandads, stepdads, uncles and special father figures had a wonderful Father’s Day!

Father’s Day is a beautiful opportunity to celebrate the special people who make our little ones feel loved, supported and encouraged every day. 🥰

Last week all of the kindy children enjoyed preparing gifts and we loved seeing them celebrate the special people in their lives. 💙

Happy Father’s Day from everyone at Yorkeys K**b Community Kindergarten! 🌿

August 3rd – 9th is Early Learning Matters Week, a wonderful opportunity to acknowledge the incredible journey of early learning and its profound impact on children and communities. At C&K, we see this play out every day across our kindy and childcare centres, in the everyday moments where children build confidence, curiosity, and connection 🤩🤸🏽‍♂️✨

For almost 120 years, Learning Through Play has been at the heart of how C&K gives children the best possible start, built on strong relationships and environments where every child feels safe to explore and grow. It's this foundation that shapes not just a child's early years, but the person they become 🥰🌱

A big shout-out to our early childhood educators, teachers, and support staff. Your dedication and expertise are what bring our approach to life, every single day, in every C&K centre 🙌🏼❤️
