The next photos will hopefully be of a successful Araucaria bidwillii hunt in some parks in Brisbane with Skip Ah after the jet lag subsides. The first priority afterwards is to finalise the 2024 workshop schedule. There are still a few spots left for New Zealand and New Caledonia if the timing of those workshops matches anyone's availability. The New Zealand workshops will feature the launch of a series of New Zealand essential field guides in Christchurch.

Stunning Gondwanan flora again today near the Perito Moreno glacier. Proteaceae, Nothofagus, Orchidaceae and so much more.

Now for something completely different. Not quite Baccharis halimifolia, but a ground hugging alpine plant called Baccharis magellanica. The flowers are clearly the same though.

Badly sprained ankle, no ice cap excursion, climbing gear has had a great holiday with no lead falls, but eating lots of Berberis microphylla (Calafate) so destined to return again. El Chalten is huge now compared to the single concrete house of Don Guerra's in 1983.

Now for something completely different. An important food plant for indigenous folk from the former Gondwanic remnants in South America, New Zealand and Australia was the fungus on Nothofagus. These were a welcome snack near the Chilean/Argentinean border yesterday near Volcan Lanin.
