ππ Learning Beyond the Classroom
This week, our Year 10 students had the opportunity to visit Bundaberg Motor Group as part of their Road Trip Around Australia Mathematics assessment, gaining valuable real-world insights into the true costs of vehicle ownership.
Students explored topics including:
β
New vs. used vehicles
β
Budgeting and financial decision-making
β
Loans, finance and interest
β
Depreciation and running costs
β
Fuel efficiency and maintenance
β
Career pathways within the automotive industry
Experiences like these help bring classroom learning to life, showing students how mathematics, financial literacy and career planning connect to everyday decisions they will make in the future.
A huge thank you to Justin Page and the entire Bundaberg Motor Group team for sharing their expertise and providing our students with such an engaging and informative experience.
At Impact Community ACADEMY, we believe learning is most powerful when students can see the relevance of what they're learning and connect it to the world around them.

The response from the community was incredible, we're already thinking about how we can bring the Escape Room experience back again in the future... π

This week, our students had the opportunity to come together to reflect, learn, and connect during Reconciliation Week.
We were lucky to welcome Stepping Black, who joined us at lunchtime to run a hands-on cultural experience.
Students participated in painting and weaving activities, taking the time to slow down, be creative, and engage with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture in a meaningful way.
It was fantastic to see so many students getting involved, showing respect, curiosity, and pride as they learned new skills and shared in the experience together.
Reconciliation Week is an important time for us to continue building understanding, respect, and unity within our school community. We are grateful to Stepping Black for sharing their knowledge and culture with us.

π May is DFV-Free Month π
At Impact ACADEMY, our message is clear:
βDFV Free starts with You & Me + Communityβ
This important campaign is being led by our dedicated team, with Teacher Nicole Anderson leading the charge and Principal Jenna Auer ensuring this message is seen, heard, and felt across our entire school community.
If youβre passing by our school this month, take a moment to look towards our building. Our students have created a powerful artwork display that proudly shares this message and raises awareness about Domestic and Family Violence.
Weβve also challenged our whole school community to wear something purple every day in May as a visible stand against DFV π
This morning, during our wellbeing check-in, our students took part in a meaningful activity, painting their hands on our windows to show unity and commitment, sending a strong message:
β¨ βDFV Free starts with You & Me + Communityβ
Students then had the opportunity to create their own βsomething purpleβ to wear or display throughout the month, showing creativity, compassion, and courage.
We are incredibly proud of the way our students and staff are stepping up, speaking out, and standing together.
π Follow along this month to see what else our students and staff are doing as we continue to raise awareness and build safer, stronger communities.
π¬ How you can get involved:
β Wear purple this May
β Start conversations about respect and safety
β Support someone who may need it
β Share this message to raise awareness
Together, we can make a difference, because change starts with You & Me + Community. π
