🐊🌿 Creative Minds in Kindy! 🌿🐊

We are loving seeing the incredible creativity and imagination coming out of our Kindy room! Our children with the support of Miss Lauryn and Miss Cassie takes us on many adventures.

The children painted egg cartons and transformed them into their very own crocodiles. They then took their creations down to our mud pit and worked together to create a muddy river for the crocodiles to swim through!

Using shovels and rakes, the children became crocodile rescuers, working hard to catch them and pull them safely from the river.

What started as an egg carton quickly turned into a whole imaginative world! We love watching our children and educators use open-ended resources, teamwork, problem-solving and their wonderful imaginations to bring their ideas to life

Our Winnie and Corduroy educators absolutely LOVE messy play!

With the support of their incredible, passionate educators, our little ones enjoyed a morning filled with sensory fun, exploration and plenty of mess!

Messy play provides children with opportunities to explore different textures, develop their senses, build confidence and creativity, and most importantly… have FUN!

There were plenty of smiles, giggles and messy little hands and feet throughout the morning! What a wonderful way to learn through play.

Book Week starts Monday at Bears and Books!!

A week of creative food, fun days, story telling and so much more planned. We cant wait to see everyone in their costumes for another fun filled week.

🤖 Robotics Fun in Paddington! 🤖

Today, the Paddington children became little engineers as they explored an exciting robotics kit!

The kit was filled with a variety of loose parts, including blocks, screws, springs, nuts, bolts and more. The children used their creativity, problem-solving skills and imagination to design, engineer and construct their very own robots.

Through this hands-on experience, the children made decisions about how to connect, balance and position the different parts, learning through trial and error along the way.

Mr Jayden joined in on the fun too, building two different robots for the children to explore, modify and add their own special touches to

Miss Lara joins us with so much passion, fun, love and laughter, and we know she is going to be a wonderful addition to our team.

You’ll find Miss Lara throughout the whole service, getting to know our children, families and educators and sharing plenty of fun along the way!

Before joining the world of Early Childhood, Miss Lara worked as a Paediatric Nurse. Her passion for working with children has always been there, and we are so excited to have her bring her experience, caring nature and enthusiasm to Bears and Books.

This morning we welcomed Kate and Harold the Giraffe from Life Ed Queensland to the Paddington and Rupert Room for a very special learning experience focused on emotions, friendships and self-regulation.

A wonderful morning that engaged the children with many smiles and laughs along the way.

It's that time of year, we are planning for 2027. We look forward to welcoming back current families and new families for another incredible year.

Loving Stepping Black

On Wednesday we welcomed Clarissa and Zane back for another morning of cultural learning.

Following on from last week’s story of Mia and Her Magical Weaving Hands, this week it was our turn to explore weaving for ourselves. “In and out, over and under,” the children repeated as they carefully threaded the materials, beginning to understand the pattern and rhythm involved in weaving.

Some children created their own individual pieces using cups and coasters, while others contributed to our community weaving wheel, working alongside their friends to create something together.

The experience provided wonderful opportunities for the children to practise concentration, persistence, hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills. More importantly, it allowed them to revisit and extend the cultural learning introduced through last week’s story, learning through doing, creating and collaborating.

Our weaving isn't finished yet! Over the coming weeks, the children will continue to add to their creations. We are also excited to be developing a weaving corner in our outdoor environment, where these pieces will be displayed and children can continue to explore weaving as part of their everyday play.

What began with a story is becoming an ongoing part of our learning environment and connecting culture, creativity, community and belonging.

Our Kindy children were treated to two delicious cooking experiences today with Miss Lauryn, Miss Cassie and Miss Mel!

First up — homemade ice cream! The children loved getting hands-on and creating their very own delicious icy treat.

Next came nachos! Perfectly matching our Letter of the Week — N! The children helped prepare and enjoy this yummy meal while exploring new ingredients, building confidence and developing practical life skills.

Cooking in Kindy is about so much more than making delicious food. It provides opportunities for children to practise following instructions, measuring, turn-taking, teamwork, fine motor skills, language and independence — all while having lots of fun!

A huge thank you to all of our wonderful Bears and Books families for getting behind Wear a Flanno for a Farmer Day! What a fantastic turnout we had!

Today was all about raising awareness and showing our support for our farmers, reminding them that they are not alone. Farmers face so many challenges, from natural disasters and unpredictable weather to rising costs and the pressures that come with keeping their farms running.

Corduroy even enjoyed a special Farmer Spa Day! This was a beautiful reminder that self-care is important for everyone, including our hardworking farmers. Taking a moment to rest, recharge and look after yourself is just as important as looking after the farm.
