The Club 81 | Digital Mentors Program recognises that young people already hold knowledge, capability and leadership potential.

Through the program, students will have the opportunity to build digital confidence, practise mentoring skills, support community and explore future pathways connected to technology, leadership, community service and contribution.

Progress can look like:
• a student feeling more confident with technology
• a student explaining something clearly
• a student showing patience when helping another person
• a student understanding privacy, scams and online safety
• a student recognising that their digital knowledge has value
• a student stepping into leadership
• a student connecting digital skills to future pathways

Students who complete the program will receive recognition for their participation and contribution.

This is about building confidence today and opening pathways for tomorrow.

Through the Club 81 | Digital Mentors Program, students will build practical skills they can use in everyday life, future study, work and community leadership.

Students will learn and practise:
• digital confidence
• safe and respectful technology use
• scam awareness and online safety
• communication and listening skills
• patience when helping others
• problem-solving
• mentoring without taking over
•respectful support for Elders, family and community
• understanding how digital skills connect to future pathways

Students are not expected to know everything before they start. The goal is to help them build confidence, practise safely, and see their digital knowledge as something valuable.

Digital skills are the doorway.
Confidence, communication, leadership and future capability are the bigger outcome.

The Club 81 | Digital Mentors Program is designed as a supported student journey.
Students will move through a practical step-by-step pathway that helps them build confidence and capability at every stage.

The journey includes:
1️⃣ Program Introduction
Students are introduced to the program and invited to reflect on digital confidence, interests and community connection.

2️⃣ Skills Check-In
Students complete a supportive self-assessment. This is not a test. It is about understanding confidence, interests and readiness.

3️⃣ Practical Workshops
Students build digital confidence, communication skills, patience, problem-solving and mentoring capability.

4️⃣ Community Connection
Students explore how their digital skills can support Elders, family and community members in safe and respectful ways.

5️⃣ Recognition
Students complete a progress check-in and receive recognition for their participation and contribution.

This is practical learning with purpose.

Broome Senior High School’s STEAM and STEM goals focus on preparing students for future pathways in emerging industries, including technology, robotics, artificial intelligence, renewable energy, critical minerals and other future workforce areas.

The Club 81 | Digital Mentors Program supports this vision by helping students connect digital confidence with real-world capability.

Make It Happen HQ is proud to continue its partnership with Broome Senior High School through the Club 81 | Digital Mentors Program.

This next phase builds on our earlier work introducing entrepreneurship and confidence-building opportunities for First Nations girls at Broome Senior High School.

We are now continuing that shared commitment by supporting the school’s STEAM and STEM goals through practical digital skills, leadership development, mentoring capability and community contribution.

Through the Club 81 | Digital Mentors Program, First Nations students will build digital confidence, communication skills and problem-solving capability while exploring how technology can support future pathways and community leadership.

The program is about more than being “good with technology.” It is about patience, respect, listening, leadership and learning from one another.

Delivered by Make It Happen HQ as part of Club 81’s First Nation Youth Development Initiative, the program creates opportunities for young people to practise their digital skills by supporting the community.

🔥 Meet Adele Peek, founder of Make It Happen HQ.

Based in Broome, Adele is a First Nations founder, entrepreneur and ecosystem builder working to advance First Nations economic self-determination through business, innovation, strategy, platforms and practical pathways.

Her work is about building the conditions for First Nations people to participate, lead and thrive.

It is founder infrastructure.
It is economic empowerment.

For Adele, entrepreneurship is about seeing problems and building the solutions.
