Today marks 8 years since my waters broke.
She didn’t arrive until days later.
The peaks and troughs were many, lots of ‘this is it’ but then another ‘physiological plateau’.
We were planning a homebirth and decided to transfer when it was coming to the 72hr mark.
The contractions in the early stages were as intense as the ones in the late stages but the ones in the day time were strong but far apart.
I never would have thought I could go so long without pain relief.
Despite a home birth transfer, oxytocin infusion, forceps it was still the most epic experience of my life.
It’s not lost on me that there was a combined 100 years of experience in that room when I was giving birth and that I knew all of them and how that would have contributed to such a positive experience.
I’m posting this to remind you, you can do hard things!
If I can do that, you can too!!!!!
You got dis!

Humans are the only mammals who doubt their ability to give birth.
Not because our bodies are incapable —
but because we’ve been taught to fear the process.
Fear changes how birth unfolds.
But so does understanding.
So does support.
So does feeling safe.
Birth isn’t something you have to “get through”.
It’s something you can prepare for, understand, and experience with confidence.
If you’re pregnant and want to feel calm, informed and supported — not overwhelmed — this is exactly what we do inside Birth Circle.

These guys attended the workshop at Birth Time and are planning publicly funded homebrith.
