MEET THE TEAM // Meet Mrs Kelly, our Head of Secondary. As Katie settles into her first year as Head of Secondary, we thought we’d take the opportunity to help our community get to know her a little better.

Katie loves connecting with our students and families, taking the time to understand their lives, interests and backgrounds and supporting them both within school and beyond the school gates. Above all, Katie loves the energy, jokes, laughter and stories that our students bring each day. She greatly enjoys spending time with her grandchildren, loves gardening and writing and telling stories to children.

We’re so glad to have Mrs Kelly as part of our college community. Her warmth, energy and genuine care for our students have already made such a difference.

Our 2026 Book Week Parade is NEXT FRIDAY 28th August! 📚✨

We’re getting very excited to celebrate Book Week and see everyone dressed up as their favourite book characters! Families are welcome and encouraged to join us at 9am for our parade under the COLA. We can’t wait to see the wonderful costumes and celebrate our love of reading together! 📖

MEET THE TEAM // Mr Reeves has been part of our community for the past 12 months and teaches HSIE and Business Studies in our Secondary School. The thing he loves most about Brightwaters is our students. He loves that they have such a unique way of looking at the world. He finds their perspective refreshing and says they remind him to be more in awe of life and to slow down and soak it all in. Outside of school, Mr Reeves enjoys gardening and a good Pepsi! A fun fact about him is that he has run five marathons!! We’re so glad to have you as part of the Brightwaters team, Matt!

BUSH STUDY // Recently, our Year 2 students got creative, using the beauty of the Blue Mountains as inspiration for their artwork. With layers of colour, texture and detail, students explored how artists can capture the beauty and atmosphere of an Australian landscape. Each painting is unique and reflects the creativity and imagination of our young artists.

PRIMARY ZONE ATHLETICS CARNIVAL // Last week, students represented Brightwaters with enthusiasm, determination and plenty of school spirit. It was wonderful to see them giving their best, encouraging one another and celebrating each other’s achievements. A huge congratulations to all of our students who competed.
