🌱 Community Garden Weeding! 🌱

Last week, we rolled up our sleeves, put on our gloves and got to work weeding the native community garden at the Bridgewater train station, right next to our school.

The garden was planted with the Kooyoora Women’s Network last year, and it was great to get in there and give it some much-needed TLC.

We were joined by Tashara, who taught the students about the different types of weeds, some of the native plants and mycelium (the white, thread-like network you can find under the soil). The students loved getting their hands dirty while learning more about the plants and the important role they play in our local environment.

A big thank you to Tash, who has been putting in a huge effort to get the community garden up and running. If you get a chance, head down and have a look at the garden — it’s fantastic to see it taking shape!

📢 Athletics Day Postponed

Unfortunately, after consulting with the athletics track manager and all participating principals this morning, we have made the decision to postpone tomorrow’s Athletics Day.

While the forecast for tomorrow remains questionable, the main concern is the condition of the venue. The recent rainfall has left the field and parts of the venue quite waterlogged, with some areas still underwater. With more rain expected today, the track manager does not expect conditions to improve enough for us to safely hold the event tomorrow.

We’ll let families know as soon as the new date is confirmed.

We’re sorry for the disappointment and appreciate everyone’s understanding. 🌧️

Principal Area Forum - This week I attended the North Western Principal Area Forum with Principals from over 350 schools. This is a great opportunity to hear the most up to date news from our Regional Director including the pleasing NAPLAN results of both Victoria and our Region. This also provided....

On Wednesday Marley, Amaya and Em represented our school and St. Inglebridge at the Sandhurst Netball Tournament.

The girls faced some tough competition but did a great job and represented our school with pride!

Thank you to our awesome ES Maddi Hart who coached the girls along with Allison from Inglewood.

Also thank you to Mr. O from St Mary’s for organising a lot of the day and driving the bus!

Terry Floyd Blue Day!

This week we concluded the term a Blue Ribbon Day to help raise awareness of the Terry Floyd Foundation. An organistion who has a vision to improve the lives and education of students in small rural settings.

Together we raised funds and awareness to help support this wonderful organistion who in turn supports us.

Students also had the chance to dress in blue or as their favourite super hero while also participating in a range of fun activities including Blue Earth games with Miss. Coffey, bracelet making with Mrs. Punton, Literacy and Craft with Miss Deane and cooking with myself
