Sound Country is a organization that is dedicated in supporting, organising and motivating musicians and the wider industry to enhance their environmental practices. This includes everything from managing events, energy consumption, tours and transportation, to handling merchandise, packaging and waste. By leading by example and bringing along their audiences, they believe the music sector can create a deep, cultural change.

It is a great opportunity to become a part of the movement of musicians across this incredible continent who are embracing green initiatives and advocating for a healthy and secure future.

Our Artist in Residence program sees artists from across Australia join our halls at Box Hill Institute Music. Artists share their talents and knowledge of the industry and their profession with our students through workshops, showcases and one on one mentoring.

This session we are thrilled to host Alexander Flood, an exceptionally skilled drummer known for infusing live dance music education with a vibrant contemporary perspective.

Join us for Alexanders Flood’s open session on October 24th at The Venue, where he will conduct his Master class and Performance class from 4:00-6:00pm. Dive into the world of rhythmic excellence and musical innovation with one of the industries finest talents

✨Creative Cup VII is almost here! We are thrilled to reveal our other MENTOR who will be part of the Cup—Olympia, an accomplished Australian artist known for her art-pop style as a singer-songwriter-guitarist. Olympia made her mark in March 2013 with the release of her self-titled debut extended play, which featured her first single "Atlantis." Her journey continued with the launch of her debut studio album, "Self-Talk," in April 2016, a release that secured her an ARIA Award nomination at the prestigious ARIA Music Awards later that year.

We are thrilled to have her join us and give us the opportunity to learn from an accomplished Australian artist such as herself.

As the registration for Creative Cup VII is currently in progress, it brings us great excitement to introduce our first MENTOR! 🎉

We are thrilled to announce that Alex Lahey will be gracing us with her presence throughout the duration of Creative Cup, where she will be generously sharing her profound insights into the realm of the music industry. Hailing from Australia, Alex Lahey is a remarkable figure in the world of alternative rock—a gifted singer-songwriter and a versatile multi-instrumentalist. Her musical journey took flight with the release of her debut album, "I Love You Like a Brother," released in 2017. This debut soared to impressive heights, reaching the 15th position on the ARIA Albums Chart. Building on this success, her second album, "The Best of Luck Club," followed in 2019, securing a notable place at number 30 on the charts.

Prepare to be enriched by her wisdom and experience during the forthcoming Creative Cup VII—truly a rare opportunity to glean insights from an accomplished artist like Alex Lahey.
