And that’s a wrap on our High Performance Squad training camp in Mackay!

After a huge week of hard work in and out of the pool, the team finished camp with plenty of quality work under their belt and some great memories along the way. Between the tough sessions, the squad also made the most of a day trip to Hamilton Island to relax, explore, and enjoy some well-earned recovery by the beach!

With Commonwealth Games Trials just a couple of weeks away, the team is excited and ready for what’s ahead!

A massive thank you to Eli for organising and leading such a successful camp, and for the dedication and energy you brought throughout the week.

Thank you as well to Mackay Aquatic & Recreation Complex for hosting us and providing such an incredible facility for our athletes.

And a special shoutout to Steve and Bek at City Fitness Mackay for pushing the squad in the gym and helping us get the most out of every session!

Meet Kiki 👋

Like a lot of adults, Kiki was nervous about starting swim lessons. She came into our adult swim program already having some swimming experience and wanting to build her confidence and learn more strokes. She joined our beginner adult class to focus on freestyle foundations in a supportive environment where she could learn at her own pace.

“I feel more confident here because I can learn freestyle from the very beginning.”

In just one 30-minute lesson, Kiki was already learning arms, legs AND breathing for freestyle. After only a few classes, she was putting it all together!

Her advice for anyone feeling nervous? “Just go for it.”

Our adult lessons are supportive, welcoming, and designed to help you progress at your own pace, with incredible teacher support and encouragement from classmates along the way.

It’s never too late to learn to swim.

Surrey Park Masters in full flight for Masters Nationals in Brisbane🏊‍♂️

130 individual swims. 18 relays. 20 medals (2🥇 7🥈 11🥉).

But more than that — an unreal team.

From just 2 swimmers at Sydney Nationals in 2022 to 17 this year, this group showed exactly what Surrey Park Masters is about: energy, curiosity, and backing each other every step of the way.

Whether it was a podium finish, a PB, a club record or simply getting up and racing — every swim mattered.

Proud is an understatement 💙

Congratulations to CHRISTY who broke the STATE RECORD in the 25M FREE at 13.14s.. previously held by the great Jennie Bucknell since 2011!

Surrey Park Masters had 18 participants - the most we’ve ever had at this event. So good to see the club thriving and members participating so actively.

There were 38 club records, 22 first placings and 39 Personal Bests (PBs) & Club Records!

All in all, a very exhausting but gratifying meet for the Seahorses.
Well done all!!
