We keep first lessons simple, fun, and pressure-free 🎹

No books yet — these are introduced later in the first term of lessons. There’s so much to explore first through listening, playing, and games.

In the early lessons we focus on finding our way around the keyboard, learning the music alphabet, using finger numbers, and playing familiar tunes like Twinkle Twinkle and Hot Cross Buns using both black and white keys.

We also clap and play rhythms together, build listening skills, and play lots of games like clap-backs, finding notes, and hearing high vs low sounds. And many more!

It’s all about building confidence, curiosity, and a strong foundation right from the start ✨

After just 3 terms of lessons, learning Clowns was a total game changer — boosting confidence, motivation, and practice habits.
So proud of your very first piano recital, Zara! ⭐Thanks Mum for allowing me to share a snippet of the performance!

Day 8 features Beethoven’s iconic Moonlight Sonata (First Movement) 🎹

Giving the new keyboard a play with this timeless classic! This piece is a beautiful study in broken chords, expressive voicing, and control — teaching students how to bring out melody while creating depth and emotion through accompaniment.

A hauntingly beautiful work that builds technique, musicality, and artistry.

Day 7 of our piano series features Adele’s Someone Like You 🎹
This beautiful piece uses broken chords, making it a great option for students to develop flow, coordination, and expressive playing while learning a well-loved song. A simple yet rewarding piece to add to your repertoire!

I returned from maternity leave… twice.

Both times, my more advanced students were kept with the fill-in teacher.

No conversation. No transition. It felt like I’d been replaced.

And if you teach, you know—
these aren’t just students.
They’re years of trust, growth, and connection.

The truth is, teachers genuinely enjoy teaching a mix of levels.
It keeps our work fulfilling, creative, and meaningful.

For a while, I questioned myself.

Now? I know my worth.

That experience is exactly why I built my own studio—
where students are nurtured with care,
and teachers are respected too.

I was once told beginner piano concerts are “boring”.

That comment stuck with me.

Because it made me realise something important—
not everyone understands what beginner performances are really for.

They’re not about perfection.
They’re about courage.

The first time a child walks on stage…
hands shaking… heart racing… and plays anyway—that’s where confidence is born.

Beginner concerts matter so much.

They build confidence.
They build resilience.
And they inspire other new pianists to think, “If they can do it, I can too.”

We underestimate how powerful it is for a child to see other children learning in real time—not polished, not perfect, just brave.

Since then, I’ve made it a priority in my teaching to create performance opportunities for every student, no matter their level.

Because confidence doesn’t start when a student is “ready”.

It starts when they’re given a stage.

🎹 Every pianist begins somewhere.
