A Teddy Bears’ Picnic is much more than a fun experience — it provides children with many opportunities for learning through play.

Children can use their imagination and creativity through pretend play, develop language and communication skills as they talk with their friends and educators, practise sharing, cooperation and turn-taking, and build confidence through participating in a shared experience.

It also supports children to develop friendships and a sense of belonging, particularly when Family Day Care educators come together and children have the opportunity to connect with others outside their usual care group.
