What is the Shim Sham? 🤔
Often referred to as the “Tap Dance (Inter)National Anthem”, the Shim Sham Shimmy is a piece of history passed down for nearly 100 years. Originally a last-minute routine created by Leonard Reed and Willie Bryant for the Whitman Sisters show in 1920s Chicago, it has evolved into a global tradition of welcoming everyone to join together in dancing the Shim Sham at the end of any major tap event.
