๐Ÿ“š๐ŸŒˆ Book Week 2026 at Rainbow Hut Early Learning Centre Prestons ๐ŸŒˆ๐Ÿ“š

Throughout the week, our children enjoyed celebrating Book Week through a variety of engaging and meaningful experiences. Educators shared stories with the children, explored different books and characters, and encouraged children to participate in creative activities inspired by their favourite stories.

A special highlight was seeing the children arrive dressed as their favourite book characters, with many also bringing along the matching book to share with their friends. This created wonderful opportunities for conversations, storytelling, imagination and shared learning.

Our Book Week experiences supported all five Early Years Learning Framework outcomes:

๐ŸŒŸ Outcome 1 โ€“ Children have a strong sense of identity: Children confidently expressed their interests and shared their favourite characters and stories.

From 5โ€“12 July 2026, our children proudly celebrated NAIDOC Week 2026, embracing this year's inspiring theme, "50 Years of Deadly." This milestone celebrates 50 years of recognising, honouring and sharing the rich histories, cultures, achievements and continuing contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Throughout the week, our children participated in a variety of meaningful learning experiences, including Indigenous art, storytelling, music, cultural discussions, nature-based activities and collaborative creative projects. These experiences encouraged curiosity, respect and a deeper appreciation of Australia's First Nations cultures while fostering a strong sense of belonging and inclusion.

Through these engaging experiences, children developed:

๐ŸŒฟ An appreciation of diversity, identity and community.

Our Preschool children have been enthusiastically engaging in numeracy learning experiences as part of our School Readiness Program. This week, the children focused on recognising and identifying the number 19 through hands-on and interactive activities.

Through these engaging experiences, children developed their understanding of number recognition, counting skills, one-to-one correspondence, and mathematical language. They confidently explored the number 19 by counting objects, tracing numerals, and participating in group discussions and games.

During Reconciliation Week, our children participated in a variety of meaningful experiences and activities to learn about Australia's First Nations Peoples, their rich cultures, histories, and continuing connection to Country.

Through storytelling, creative art, discussions, music, and collaborative activities, children explored the importance of respect, inclusion, and understanding. These experiences encouraged children to appreciate diversity and recognise that everyone has a unique story, culture, and identity that should be valued and celebrated.

๐ŸŒธ๐Ÿ’– A Beautiful Motherโ€™s Day Celebration at Rainbow Hut Early Learning Centre Prestons ๐Ÿ’–๐ŸŒธ๐ŸŒˆ๐Ÿ’โ˜•

Despite the slightly chilly weather, our coffee van brought so much warmth and joy as our mums, families and community members enjoyed a lovely coffee together โ˜•โ„๏ธ๐Ÿ’› It was a wonderful opportunity to connect, relax and celebrate the special people in our childrenโ€™s lives.

Throughout the celebration, children enjoyed meaningful Motherโ€™s Day activities with their mums and families, sharing smiles, laughter and special moments together ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿ‘งโ€๐Ÿ‘ฆ The children were so excited and proud to present their handmade gifts to their mothers, showing love, appreciation and care through their beautiful creations ๐ŸŽ๐ŸŒท

Our photo frame setup was also a very special highlight, giving families the chance to capture precious memories with their children ๐Ÿ“ธ๐Ÿ’ These moments truly reflected the love, connection and sense of belonging within our Rainbow Hut community.

At Rainbow Hut Early Learning Centre Prestons, our children were meaningfully engaged in interplay activities as they created a beautiful poppy wreath in recognition of ANZAC Day.

Through this hands-on experience, children explored creativity, colour, texture, and shape while working together to contribute to a shared artwork. This activity also provided an opportunity for educators to introduce children to the meaning of remembrance in an age-appropriate way, encouraging respect, empathy, and gratitude.

The children showed great focus, teamwork, and pride as they placed their poppies together to complete the wreath. It was a special moment of learning, reflection, and connection.

What a joyful and exciting Easter week we have shared together at Rainbow Hut Early Learning Centre. Throughout the week, our children were engaged in a variety of Easter experiences and activities that brought so much fun, creativity and learning into our environment. ๐Ÿ’›โœจ

The children enjoyed celebrating Easter through hands-on experiences, art and craft, group discussions, and creative play. One of the highlights of the week was making their very own Easter hats, which the children created with great enthusiasm, imagination and pride. ๐ŸŽจ๐Ÿ‘’๐Ÿ‡ Their beautiful hats were filled with colour, creativity and lots of Easter cheer.

Our little learners also participated in different Easter-themed activities across the week, which supported their social interactions, fine motor development, creativity, confidence, and sense of belonging. It was wonderful to see the children so happy, engaged and involved in each experience as they explored the meaning of celebration, sharing and togetherness. ๐Ÿฅ๐ŸŒผ๐Ÿ’

We are so proud of all the children for their excitement, participation and beautiful creations during this special week. Thank you to our families for your continued support and for sharing in these special moments with us.
