Complete a Snow Driver Training course

Driving in Kosciuszko National Park presents significant risks due to poor visibility and slippery road conditions.

From 1 June 2026 to 11 October 2026, all drivers operating within Kosciuszko National Park must complete a Transport approved Snow Driver Training course.

Drivers must also carry evidence of this training when transporting passengers into the park.

Operators are responsible, under their Safety Management System Guidelines, for ensuring drivers are appropriately trained and competent.

Transport will be conducting regulatory assurance activities in the snowfields during this period and may enforce compliance.
Drivers operating a public passenger service without the required training may face suspension of their driver’s authority, as well as the operator’s accreditation.

Bus and coach operators are encouraged to visit the Transport website to familiarise themselves with Bulletin update 1.7 - Snow Training - June 2026 prior to providing services this snow season.
