Congratulations for an amazing 10year celebration and another fantastic conference.
I can’t say enough of a thankyou to all of the amazing women who bought us all together, who have got each other’s backs through the roughest of days.
The short time I had to spend with you all was incredible and hilarious. To meet all of you sisters from the other side of the world and know that we’re all in it together, dealing with the same issues and encouraging one young girl at a time. Gives me renewed hope that one day I will get that female apprentice I’ve wanted for so long.

I’m flying out to work away for a couple of weeks.
If you’ve got any ideas for stories you’d like to read, fair chance I’ll be writing a bit over the next couple of weeks so let me know.

No new blog this week. But this on is relevant for me at the moment.
Raising good humans is harder than any job I’ve faced in the workplace.
Teaching resilience is paramount.
But I’m raising a teen girl and I’m doubting I’ve given her enough guidance during her formative years. I’m struggling to come to terms with her needing to make her own mistakes when it is so much like looking back at myself.
If you find yourself having doubts...read this for a different perspective.
Doubt
Doubt Recently I was telling my story over again to another group bright students, The future generation workforce. Telling them the story of my life, my career, my mistakes & challenges…proof …

Is the 50-50 Gender Quota a good thing?
Is it necessary?
Is it fair?
What is your opinion?
Quota… Yea or Nay?
Is “Quota” a dirty word? Women have been doing it for years, do we really need quotas? I vote Yea! and here’s why. I am a fitter and machinist, I am employed in a heavily male dominated trade…

Who’d get the welding job just at first glance?? Sitting at 0.7% in my city I know the stats. This face app phenomenon has got my head ticking over...your appearance has nothing to do with the skills you have. AND it still hinders some women on getting a gig in the male dominated trades. #2019

I spent a lot of my childhood in Long Gully in community housing.
Long Gully, B**g Gully, the Bronx...Eaglehawk...
From 5 to 12 so a pretty formative chunk of my childhood. A daughter of an unemployed single mum of 5.
Don’t underestimate or judge the lower socioeconomic families...because I am from one.
And I think I’m doing alright.
